Dear Friends,

This week the director of IFI, Chuck Cohen, has undergone successful surgery for hernia repair. He is recovering well.

But due to the circumstances, the prayer alert this week has been written by another member of the team.

  1. Praise

We begin our praise from the prophetic portion of the week. The seven weeks after Tisha B’av are considered weeks of consolation after the destruction of the Temple. The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God stands forever. (Isaiah 40:8)

    • Praise You that while heaven and earth may pass away, Your word will not pass away (Matthew 24:35).

    • Bless You that You created the world and sustain it by Your word (John 1:1-3).

    • In a world that is changing so quickly like shifting sand, Your word is the solid rock on which we can stand (Luke 6:48).

    • You never change and Your faithfulness is eternal (Psalm 89:2).

    • Thank You that Your promises are yea and amen in a world that is filled with ever shifting "truth” (2 Corinthians 1:20).

    • We are humbled that though You do not need us or our prayers, You listen and answer (Psalm 86:6-7) (Jeremiah 33:3).

    • So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth. It shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it. (Isaiah 55:11). Thank You for this promise.

  2. Government

As we look at this coalition of multiple personalities, we remember that the government is upon His shoulders and He is on the throne (Isaiah 9:6) (Psalm 45:6).

    • Bring order out of chaos for Your glory and Your purposes (Genesis 1:3).

    • Forbid that this government should destroy the good that was accomplished in the last few years (Ecclesiastes 9:18) (Psalm 125:3).

Under U.S. pressure, Prime Minister Naftali Bennett has slowed approval for construction in Judea and Samaria. This involves plans, not only for homes, but for overall development of the community, such as access roads, etc.

    • Guard over Bennett, as he has aligned himself with allies that are not part of his beliefs. Protect him from compromise or submitting to the U.S. (2 Corinthians 6:14).

    • Bring him back to his declared principles through good counsel and Your work in his heart (Proverbs 12:20).

Yair Lapid, our Foreign Minister and Prime Minister designate, has just re-defined anti-semitism as applying not only to Jews, but slaves, gays, Muslims and others.

    • Abba, reveal to him what a chosen people means to You, a nation not reckoning itself among the nations (Numbers 23:9b).

    • Cause him to fully understand the danger and error of his statement and may he make a public apology for it.

    • Don’t let him steer the nation in the wrong direction. Override any wrong decisions that he may make (Proverbs 19:21).

Mansour Abba and his Islamist party Ra’am often hold the balance of power in this coalition. While championing the good of the Arab-Israeli sector, they often echo the rhetoric of the Muslim brotherhood

    • Hedge in Mansour Abbas, the leader of the Ra’am party, from manipulation.

    • Keep him busy with the real issues that affect the Arab community (Proverbs 21:3).

  3. Israel and international relations

Gilad Erdan, Israel’s ambassador to the UN, is hosting a delegation of 10 UN ambassadors in Israel for a week.

    • Open their eyes to see the truth and take it back with them to the UN. May they not be deceived (John 8:32).

China is taking a very vocal, clear pro-Palestinians and pro- Iranian stance, while retaining great financial investments in Israel.

    • Raise up a leadership who recognize the dangers of this relationship and are willing to expose it (Proverbs 26:25).

    • Bless the Chinese church to grow and be established and to stand against the deceptive plans of their government against Israel.

The relationship of Biden with Israel is of great concern in almost every arena as the U.S. returns to Obama’s policies.

    • Give Bennett discernment to recognize any U.S. manipulation and Your courage to stand against it (2 Chronicles 24:20).

    • Bring the counsel of the nations to nothing and may their devices have no effect (Psalm 33:10).

  4. Security - External

We are seeing answers to long term prayers in the fraying Iranian control over Iraqi and Syrian militias, the financial strains on Tehran, the riots over water shortages in the worst drought in Iran in 50 years.

    • Continue to dry up the money train so the proxies will be cut off.

    • Cause damage to the nuclear reactors through earthquakes, so it will be seen to be Your hand (Numbers 16:30).

    • Give Israel accurate, actionable intelligence whether for cyberattacks, bombings or any other strategy (2 Kings 6:12).

    • Continue to cause Iran, her allies and proxies to recognize that they are coming against the God of Israel (Joshua 2:11).

    • Protect and provide for Your body of believers in Iran. May they grow in wisdom and stature and favor with God and man (Luke 2:52).

Lebanon is in the worst situation financially that they have been since the mid-70’s with their Prime Minister resigning.

    • Have mercy on the civilians.

    • Grant Lebanon a stable government who will take responsibility and not give in to Hizbollah’s manipulation (Proverbs 24:1-3).

    • Give the IDF good information on what is happening there and a strong strategy on how to deal with any potential scenario.

    • Prevent Hizbollah from using the situation to declare war and so deflect attention from the economic disaster that exists.

  5. Security – Internal

The status of Hamas internationally and within the Palestinian population has grown since the last engagement with Israel.

    • Arise and let Your enemies be scattered (Psalm 68:1)

Turkey has entered the arena of negotiated cease fire between Israel and Hamas as mediator.

    • Guard Israeli negotiators from all deceit and manipulation (Psalm 120:2).

    • May those who hate Zion be confounded if they are trying to bring an agenda that is not in line with Your will (Psalm 129:5-6).

Hamas are holding summer camps for up to 50,000 children who are being trained in terrorist skills.

    • Have mercy on the children and speak to them deep in their hearts revealing Yeshua to them as their Savior (Matthew 19:14).

    • Dry up the finances for these camps.

Mahmoud Abba, the leader of the Palestinian Authority, finds his support base being whittled away by Hamas. He is also getting older and dealing with health issues.

    • Prepare Israel and the IDF for the day after Abbas. May they already have a strategy for what may be a very chaotic situation (1 Chronicles 14:8-17).

  6. Salvation/Aliyah

    • Work in the hearts of Your people through anti-semitism to draw them to return to Israel (Jeremiah 16:16).

    • Prepare Israel’s government with priorities in place for the coming Aliyah. This includes the infrastructure that will be needed, affordable housing, jobs, and a working bureaucracy (Jeremiah 31:12).

    • Open the doors for Aliyah to all who desire to come (Job 31:32).

    • Provide for the agencies that help new immigrants.

    • Have mercy on the new immigrants. Plant their roots deep and provide all they need to be able to stay (Jeremiah 32:41).

    • Wake up Your church to their responsibility within Your plans (Jeremiah 31:7).

    • Water all the seeds of the gospel that have been planted over the years in Your people and bring forth a mighty harvest (Matthew 13:8).

Blessings and shalom from Zion
