  1. Praise:

Shabbat's Torah portion has one of the greatest miracles in the Exodus story. God shields His people in Goshen from most of His judgments that fell on Egypt because He wanted to show the Egyptians that He is the God of the whole earth.

    • And I will set apart in that day the land of Goshen, in which My people dwell, that no swarms shall be there; in order that you may know that I am YHWH in the midst of the earth.Ex. 8:22
    • Lord, we bless and exalt You that You reigned, and still reign, over heaven and earth (Psa. 103:19).

    • Messiah Yeshua, we rejoice in knowing that You are "Lord of all" today (Matt. 28:18; Acts 10:36).

    • Hallelujah! Satan may be the god of this age (2 Cor. 4:4), but our God reigns (Psa. 96:10; Isa. 52:7).

    • We trust in Your overriding sovereignty in the midst of the increased chaos in the world, which is what You said would happen just before Your return (Matt. 24:6-8, 21-22; 1 Thess. 5:1-6).

    • What security to know that both You guide us and guard our backs (Psa. 23:3; Isa. 52:12).

    • We praise You for watching over Your Word in Psalm 34:7, which says that Your angel camps all around those who fear Him, and delivers them.

    • Thank You for Your promise of guarding Your nation Israel – at all times (Psa. 121:4).

    • It is a real comfort to know that nothing can ever take You by surprise (Isa. 46:10).

    • It is also wonderful to hear You declare that nothing is too hard for You (Jer. 32:27; see v. 17).

    • Thank You Lord Yeshua, for searching for Your sheep when they go astray (Luke 15:4-7).

    • Since You never change (Mal. 3:6), we can look back at Your faithfulness over this past year and know that You will remain faithful in 2022.

  2. Aliyah:

The return of Jews to Israel in 2021 was 30% higher than it was in the first year of the coronavirus restrictions (2020). Incredibly, about 50,000 Jews have immigrated to Israel over the last two years. This is a huge encouragement for us to continue to ask God to fulfill His Word – especially as we remember that the aliyah is all for His holy name's sake (Ezek. 36:23-24).

    • We bless You for this miraculous increase in a very difficult year to travel and relocate (Isa. 43:5-7).

    • Please God, firmly root everyone who has returned to Your land at this time (Jer. 24:6).

    • Supply all of their needs – emotional, mental, physical and spiritual – and encourage them as they learn Hebrew while granting them lots of patience to adjust to an Israeli lifestyle (Zech. 8:1-8).

    • As many Jews now work from home, show those in exile that they can do that from Israel as well.

    • Place Your burden for aliyah on the hearts of Israel's current government ministers (Jer. 32:41-44).

    • Start drawing all the Jews in exile who are destined to return in 2022 (Jer. 31:3).

    • Make 2022 a year in which all Jews in dangerous situations are released to come home (Ex. 7:3-5).

    • Use Your increased shaking of the earth to chase Your people back home (Psa. 99:1-3; Heb. 12:26).

    • Provide the needs of all organizations – both Jewish and Christian - who work towards helping Your people immigrate to, and be settled in, Israel (Psa. 112:5-9; Phil. 4:15, 19).

    • Increase the number of Spanish and Portuguese speaking Jews returning to Israel, and direct many of them to settle in the Negev as per Obadiah 1:20b.

    • From Shabbat's prophetic reading: Thus says Lord YHWH; 'When I have gathered the house of Israel from the people among whom they are scattered, and will be sanctified in them in the sight of the gentiles, then they shall dwell on their land that I have given to My servant Jacob. They shall dwell on it safely, building houses, and planting vineyards…when I have executed judgments upon all that despise them round about them; and they shall know I am YHWH their God. (Ezek. 28:25-26)

  3. Salvation:

The promise that "all Israel will be saved" is in the context of God's holy remnant (Rom. 11:26), most of whom return to the land as we just read above. We should not only pray for their return, but we need to also intercede for their salvation, as the verse below states:

    • For thus says YHWH, 'Sing with gladness for Jacob; shout among the chief of the nations: publish, praise, and say, "O YHWH, save Your people, the remnant of Israel"'.Jer. 31:7
    • Lord, as this verse is directed to the gentile members of Messiah's Body [see Jer. 31:6: the Hebrew word "watchmen" is the Hebrew word "Christian" today], please wake up many in Your Body to pray for this in obedience to Your Word and in faith – fully expecting You to answer (1 John 5:14-15).

    • Bring forth much fruit from all the seeds sown and watered in Jewish hearts in 2021 (1 Cor. 3:6-7).

    • Remove the veil You placed on Jewish hearts so that gentiles might also be saved (Rom. 11:25).

    • Lord Yeshua, we ask for a large remnant from the following groups of Jews to come to know You in 2022: Holocaust survivors and their families; Jews living in Judea and Samaria; survivors of terror attacks and families who have lost loved ones to terrorism; Jewish prisoners in Israel and exile; health care workers; women who have had abortions; orphans and widows; wealthy Jews in Israel and in the nations; Israeli politicians; many ultra-Orthodox Jews, including their rabbis; teachers at every level of education; Jewish hippies; and many IDF soldiers and commanders.

    • Abba, draw many to Your Son, opening their hearts to see that Yeshua is Messiah (John 6:44).

    • We thank You that while salvation is not possible for humans by themselves, nothing is impossible for You (Luke 1:37; 18:24-27).

    • Father, send forth more laborers into the Jewish harvest field (Matt. 9:38).

    • Send many ex-Muslim believers whose backgrounds can provoke Jews to jealousy (Rom. 11:11).

    • Bring forward the day of Israel's salvation and let it happen suddenly (Isa. 62:11-12; Zech. 12:10).

  4. Government:

The direction that Israel's coalition is leading God's nation seems to be further away from His revealed will. We continue to pray for it to be hedged in and to be disbanded in His timing and His way – and to us, it seems the sooner the better.

    • Abba, You allowed this government to be formed, so we ask You to have the final word in every decision that it makes (Prov. 19:21; 21:1).

    • Lord, fulfill Your Word in Isaiah 1:25-26, removing all the dross from Israel's political scene while also restoring God-fearing leaders and displaying Your righteousness.

    • The coalition just committed one billion shekels to double the Golan's population and build several new cities. God, make sure this commitment is fulfilled (Num. 32:33 [Bashan = Golan Heights]).

    • Extend this commitment to Judea, Samaria, the Jordan Valley and the Negev (Isa. 35:1-2; 54:1-2).

    • Show the ministers that building in the periphery helps to alleviate the housing crisis (Jer. 32:41-44).

    • Abba, Israel's government – as every other government – has no real clue as to what to do to stop the spread of coronavirus. Please impart Your plans to those who are making these decisions (Isa. 14:24).

    • Remove the spirit of panic that has gripped Prime Minister Naftali Bennett on this issue and direct him to cry out to You (Psa. 50:15; 107:27-30).

    • It was reported that since the start of the Covid-19 crisis, no new hospital beds have been added in Israel– although this was promised. Lord, show the authorities how to fix this quickly (Jer. 8:22).

    • Pour out on Israel's frontline health workers a spirit of encouragement (1 Sam. 30:6; Hab. 3:17-18).

    • Give the health ministry Your wisdom to sift through all the various facts and statistics and studies surrounding the coronavirus and then to receive Your guidelines for Your nation (Prov. 2:6).

    • Thank You for the report that Israel's economy rebounded in 2021 better than many other nations.

    • Let this recovery impact those who are really hurting economically (Deut. 15:11; Psa. 9:18; 72:13).

  5. Internal security:

The Torah portion affirms that all of the land of Israel was given to the seed of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob by a covenant which God Himself made with them. Only as Israel receives this and acts on it will it enjoy that security which ultimately comes from God.

    • I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, by the name God Almighty [El Shaddai]… and I also established My covenant with them, to give them the land of Canaan…Ex. 6:3-4a
    • [Defense Minister Gantz and Palestinian Authority President Abbas met again, this time in Gantz's home in Israel. The only good thing that came out of this is that it widened the division in Palestinian society between the PA and Hamas.] Lord, use this to bring their whole house down (Mark 3:25)!

    • Thank You for revealing Gantz's heart in this matter of Your land (Jer. 17:9-10: Matt. 15:18).

    • Block him from paving any further stones in the path of creating a "Palestine" (Prov. 16:9; 22:28).

    • Vaccinate Gantz with a heavy dose of Your fear and then lead him in Your paths (Eccl. 12:13).

    • Open the eyes of many more Israelis to see the dangerous direction Israel's current coalition is taking in setting the stage for the creation of a Palestinian State on Your land (Lev. 25:23; Joel 3:1-2).

    • Use the left-leaning tendencies of the government to stir up more Israelis to demand the extension of Israel's sovereignty over all of Judea, Samaria and the Jordan Valley (Psa. 85:1; Ezek. 36:8-12).

    • Lord, we praise and thank You that although terror attacks increased this past year, deaths from these attacks have dropped drastically (Psa. 121:4).

    • Yet as every attack leaves deep scars on its victims – often physically, but always emotionally and mentally, we pray for them to receive Your total healing at this time (Psa. 6:2; 43:5; Matt. 9:35).

    • Anoint Israel's security forces to stop all of these attacks in 2022 (Psa. 44:4-8).

    • Increase the accuracy of every intelligence report that Israel receives (Obad. 1:6).

    • Release an elite band of angel-warriors to protect Your land today and in the future (Gen. 19:10-13).

    • Lord God, we know there are no "lone wolf" attacks as each terrorist is part of the wolf-pack that is under the control of the spirit of Islam. Therefore we ask You to save many of them – even in the very act of trying to kill a Jew – and convert them into lovers of Zion (Matt, 5:43-44; Luke 7:5).

    • Prepare Israel to know how to deal with – or not deal with – the chaos and bloodshed that will occur among the Palestinians in the days following Abbas' removal (Prov. 26:17).

    • If it be Your will, may that chaos force Israel to retake all of the land west of the Jordan River!

  6. External security:

The Torah portion reveals a reason why God appoints anti-God leaders in the world: it is so that His reputation/His name will be known in all the earth.

    • Speaking to Pharaoh: And for this purpose have I raised you up, in order to show you My power and that My name may be declared in all the earth. (Ex. 9:16; cp. Rom. 9:14-18).

    • As You did in Egypt, plague Iran in ways that make it impossible to deny that Israel is Your Son, Your firstborn, and that Iran is in deep trouble with You because of threatening it (Ex. 4:22-23).

    • Let more and more Iranians see that Israel's God – He is God (Ex. 7:5; 14:4, 18)!

    • We pray that Your dealings with Iran would result in a great revival throughout the Middle East, and that many of Israel's enemies would become part of Israel's family (Matt. 5:44; Eph. 2:11-22).

    • Lord, we do not trust in horses and chariots, or tanks and jets; we trust in You (Psa. 20:7-9). Yet You have often defended this nation by the IDF so we ask You to give Israel's military industry an ability to develop cutting edge weaponry – especially in the area of laser technology – in order that the Jews will be alive when You pour out Your Spirit to save them (Psa. 62:2; Isa. 4:5).

    • Prohibit Israel from giving away any cutting edge secrets – even to its "allies" (Isa. 39:3-4).

    • Prevent any Israeli politician or military leader from looking to any nation – including America – to step in and defend Your nation (Isa. 31:1).

    • Reveal to them that the help of man is vain, and then turn them to You (Psa. 60:11-12; 123:1-4).

    • Lord God, warn Israel's "friends" among the nations that, as Shabbat's prophetic portion states, You judged Egypt because it turned out to be an unreliable ally for Israel (Ezek. 29:6-8).

    • Lord of hosts, please highlight all of the IDF's Iran Command's strategy and tactics that are of You, while all plans that are not, please remove (Psa. 33:10-11).

    • Guide the IDF in its plans to deal with Iran's main proxy Hizbullah, who sits on Israel's north and northeast borders in Lebanon and Syria (Prov. 21:31).

    • Confound all of the military advisors of each of Israel's enemies (Psa. 129:5).

    • Like You did with Haman, let whatever trap its enemies are planning for Israel become the trap You allow them to fall into – and as with Haman, do it suddenly (Est. 7:10; Psa. 141:9-10).

  7. Water:

We rejoice to see all of the snow that is already on Mt. Hermon and the rain that has fallen in most other areas of God's land. Still, we want to have the Sea of Galilee and all of Israel's underground aquifers full by the end of the rainy season and so we continue to knock and ask.

    • Thank You Father for pouring out Your rain on this land because of who You are – a merciful and just God – and not because of how righteous Your people are at this time (Matt. 5:45b).

    • We praise You for answering our prayers in providing the early soaking rains (Jer. 14:22).

    • Grant to Israel godly wisdom in the administration of its water resources.

    • In line with Ezekiel 36:34-36, we ask You to make Your land to flourish in such a bountiful way that many gentiles will recognize Your divine hand in its restoration and fruitfulness.

  8. IFI:

Your prayers for IFI's finances are having a definite impact. For that we praise God and thank you. Yet we need for this to be prayed into consistently. Also, please ask God for that next generation of IFI's leadership to be brought forth if He wants this ministry to continue into the near future.

Shabbat shalom and blessings from Zion,

For the IFI team
