1. We used parts of this week's prophetic portion to thank God.

    • For the nation and kingdom that will not serve you [Israel when being restored] shall perish. Yes, those nations shall be utterly wasted. The glory of Lebanon shall come unto you...to beautify the place of My sanctuary; and I will make the place of My feet glorious. The sons also of them that afflicted you...and all that despised you shall bow down at the soles of you feet; and shall call you, City of LORD [YHWH], Zion of the Holy One of Israel. Whereas you have been forsaken and hated...I will make you an eternal excellence, a joy of many generations.  You shall also suck the milk of the Gentiles...and you shall know that I LORD am your Savior and your Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob...Violence shall no more be heard in your land, wasting nor destruction within your borders; but you shall call your walls Salvation, and your gates Praise.

      Isaiah 60:12-18
    • We bless you for who You are and that You will perform that which Your word promises.

    • Thank You for being so faithful and merciful to us and to Israel.

    • We trust You and cling to You as we see all Your shaking intensify.

    • Use us - this very day - to pray for Your kingdom purposes. Amen.

  2. We are in the middle of the Moslem month of Ramadan. Many Moslems spend extra time in prayer and reading of the Koran and expect to receive dreams or visions from Allah. We prayed for the true God to reveal Himself to many.

    • We bless You for all the ex-Moslem believers who have been saved since last Ramadan.

    • Please set them free from all anti-Semitic spirits and from replacement theology.

    • Give our brothers and sisters a revelation of Israel and her restoration in these days.

"I will sanctify My great name, which was profaned among the gentiles, which you [Israel] have profaned in the midst of them; and the gentiles shall know that I am LORD...when I shall be sanctified in you [Israel] before their eyes.

      Ezekiel 36:23
    • We thank You for the Iranian Body of Messiah and ask for their protection and wisdom to know how to share the gospel with Moslems in Iran and how to pray for their nation.

    • Give many Moslems real dreams and visions of the true Jesus and not the Islamic version.

In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw also the Lord [Yeshua - see John 1:18; 12:37-41] sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and His train filled the temple.

      Isaiah 6:1
    • Lord, save multitudes of Palestinians - especially members of the Hamas terrorist group.

    • Wake up the Western believers to see that You have allowed the Islamic mission field to literally move into their neighborhoods. Then give them You counsel to reach their Moslem neighbors with the true gospel.

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Messiah: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believes - to the Jew first, and also to the gentile.

      Romans 1:16
  3. We are also in the middle of the Hebrew month of Ellul during which many Jews seek God in a more intense way to prepare themselves for the next month, Tishri, which brings with it the high holydays of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur - the Day of Atonement - and finally Succot - the Feast of Tabernacles. We prayed for the salvation of Israel.

    • Abba, as we pray for specific groups, please save a significant number from each one.

    • O LORD, save Your people, the remnant of Israel.

      Jeremiah 31:7
    • And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and supplications: and they shall look upon [lit: unto] Me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for Him, as one mourns for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for Him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.

      Zechariah 12:10
    • Open the eyes of many Holocaust survivors.

    • Use believing soldiers in the IDF to provoke their fellow soldiers to jealousy.

    • May many in the Orthodox community have the veil removed - including their rabbis.

    • Save the settlers - who are following Your word by settling in Judea and Samaria.

You shall plant vines upon the mountains of Samaria: the planters shall plant, and shall eat them as common things.

      Jeremiah 31:5
    • Lord, save Israel's Gaza refugees.

    • Bring new immigrants into that Jerusalem which is above (Galatians 4:26).

    • Yeshua, reveal Yourself to many of Israel's youth.

It shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out My spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:

Joel 2:28 (Note that both the context and the literal fulfillment of this is directed at Israel's sons and daughters.)
    • Open the eyes of many in Israel's southern communities, including S'derot, who have been - and still are - under a rocket barrage from Gaza terrorists.

    • What a blessing to see the many Israeli Messianic congregations - in all the languages of the people: Hebrew, English, Russian, Amharic [Ethiopian], French, and more. Use them to reach the people in their own mother tongue.

    • Yeshua, bless the thousands of Christians who come up to Jerusalem during this holyday season - and use them to provoke Your people to jealousy.

Have they [Israel] stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, to provoke them to jealousy.

      Romans 11:11
  4. Succot is one of the three pilgrim feasts of YHWH, when all the men of Israel are to ascend to Jerusalem. So we prayed that for many, this ascend would be come permanent and they would make aliyah - immigrate to Israel - with their families.

    • Thank You Lord for the increase in aliyah this past year.

    • We bless You for all the flights of new olim - immigrants - that we have received this summer from North and South America, South Africa, the UK and France and from the former Soviet Union. More, Lord!

    • Please stir up the Jews in America that now is the time to come home with all of their possessions.

Surely the islands shall wait for Me, and the ships of Tarshish first, to bring your sons from far, their silver and their gold with them, unto the name of LORD your God, and to the Holy One of Israel, because He has glorified you.

      Isaiah 60:9
    • In Your mercy, release Your people from the deceptive comfort of exile and give them a deep hunger to live in the land that You have given to our forefathers.

    • Help many Messianic Jews to be open to hear Your voice concerning Your will for them. Are they to remain in exile or is this the time for many to come home?

And the ransomed of LORD shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.

      Isaiah 35:10
  5. The time between Rosh Hashanah [Sept. 19th] and Yom Kippur [Sept. 28th] are called "The Days of Awe." In Judaism they signify a time when man's destiny is written in the books in heaven for the next year - they are days of judgment. This year the UN General Assembly [GA] has it's main meeting in New York City from Sept. 23rd-26th and the G-20 nations meet in Pittsburgh to discuss the world's economy Sept. 24th-25th. Reportedly, US President Barak Hussein Obama will present his "Middle East Peace Plan" at the UNGA. We must watch and pray as the nations are drawing Israel into a trap. "Land-for-peace" would cause Israel to sin against the Lord by dividing His land and would not bring peace, but just increase the desire of Islam to destroy this nation completely.

    • Lord, strengthen Israel's leadership to resist this anti-God plan (Zechariah 12:6).

    • Specifically give Prime Minister Netanyahu and his close advisors, wisdom and godly counsel. Stiffen his resolve to not do anything that is against Your will and purposes.

    • Lord, arise and defend what You are doing in this nation - for Your glory (Malachi 1:5).

    • Watch over this word in this week's prophetic portion in relation to the UNGA: For the nation and kingdom that will not serve you [Israel when God is restoring her] shall perish. Yes, those nations shall be utterly wasted. (Isaiah 60:12; cp. Zechariah 12:9)

    • Thank You for continuing to harden the hearts of the Palestinian leadership so that they are not willing to accept anything that Israel offers them.

    • LORD is righteous: He has cut asunder the cords of the wicked. Let them all be confounded and turned back that hate Zion.

      Psalms 129:4-5
    • Blessed be LORD, who has not given us as a prey to their teeth. Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped. Our help is in the name of LORD, who made heaven and earth.

      Psalms 124:6-8
    • Give to those whom You have called to be watchmen on Jerusalem's walls, wisdom and an anointing to "watch and pray".

  6. Security for Israelis and Jews is always an issue than needs prayer coverage.

    • Behold, he that keeps/guards Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.

      Psalms 121:4
    • We bless You for enabling Israel's security forces to be winning the war against terror.

    • Thank You for stopping a ship with major weapons that was apparently going from Russia to Iran. Let the true implications of this come out into the open.

    • Recently, the IDF has introduced a number of new weapons. This is an answer to pray and we give You the glory for it. Continue to enable Israelis to develop weapons that will defend this nation against it many enemies.

    • Lord, wake up the West to the real nature of Iran's current regime as Ahmadinejad's new cabinet was approved - including as defense minister an internationally wanted terrorist!

    • We agree in prayer that this promise applies to the Golan Heights: I will bring again the captivity of My people of Israel, and they shall build the waste cities, and inhabit them; they shall plant vineyards, and drink the wine thereof [Golan wines have won international competitions!]; they shall also make gardens, and eat the fruit of them. And I will plant them on their land, and they shall no more be pulled up out of their land which I have given them, says LORD your God. (Amos 9:14-15)

We ended by praying for the Israeli Body to hear and respond to Messiah Yeshua's word to His disciples concerning the last days: Watch therefore, and pray always, that you may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man. (Luke 21:36); Take heed, watch and pray: for you know not when the time [of My return] is. (Mark 13:33); What I say unto you I say unto all, Watch. (Mark 13:37)

May our gracious God use you and all of us at Intercessors For Israel as part of His solution for the end of this age.

Shabbat shalom,
The IFI Team

This year, the Day of Atonement, Yom Kippur, starts at sundown, Sunday, the 27th September and continues until sundown Monday the 28th. On this day, a majority of Jews worldwide fast - and many pray - for God to forgive them their sins and save them. This is the perfect day for the Church to also fast and pray in agreement with the Jews - that God would save all Israel and forgive them of their sins.

If you are physically able to fast, we encourage you to do this and if not - please take some time on this most holy of God's feasts and pray for Israel's salvation.

It is also an excellent day for you to meet with God and hear His voice for you as well!
