To the chief Musician upon Gittith, A Psalm for the sons of Korah. How lovely are your tabernacles, O LORD of hosts! My soul longs, even faints for the courts of the LORD: my heart and my flesh cries out for the living God. Yea, the sparrow has found a house, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, even your altars, O LORD of hosts, my King, and my God.

Psalms 84:1-3

Thank You Lord that we can come before You this day and cry out for Your mercy upon us!

  1. We began by praying for the small outlying villages and settlements in Israel. One of our brothers lives in a community like this and he has seen a steady increase in security in his village. Many other villages or settlements have very little security and are vulnerable. We prayed for all those brave men and women who have a vision to prosper in EVERY part of the Land.

    • Cause the people living in these villages to call upon You in their time of need.

    • Place big angels at the gates of these communities.

    • May they find the courage and strength to continue to build up Your Land.

    • Lord, expose the gaps in security they have so that they may close them.

    • Remind them that their God is their strong tower - Psalm 61:3.

    • Thank You Lord for planting Your people in this Land and we ask that You would cause fear to flee from them.

    • May the parents and children feel safe in their homes.

    • Grant them the strength, security, and peace that can only be found in You.

  2. Our prayers for security then expanded to Israel as a whole and her borders. In the south, there is a growing concern for the state of the Sinai Peninsula. Since the Mubarak downfall, there seems to be a free flow of weapons through the Sinai, crossing over into Gaza. The unrest in Syria continues to threaten the stability of Israel's northern border. If that wasn't enough, missiles continue come in from Gaza intermittently. We at IFI pray that Israel may be safe physically so that ultimately they can find their safety spiritually in Yeshua.

    • To the chief Musician for the sons of Korah, A Song upon Alamoth. God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though the waters roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof.

      Psalm 46:1-3
    • Give boldness and courage to our leaders who need to make decisions about what to do.

    • Thank You for all those who are gathering information for Israel among our enemies, and we pray that their information would be accurate.

    • Lord, watch over our southern border and all the activities going on in the Sinai - give our military the wisdom to know what to do about it.

    • Renew Israel's resources that seem to always be over-extended.

    • May we be able to see through the snare of the enemy and respond well to the new tactics they are adopting.

    • Deal sovereignly with the mess that is going on in Syria right now and please bring that proud government to its knees before Your throne.

  3. The Palmer report was a report commissioned to investigate the flotilla incident that happened a year ago. This report has been leaked before it is supposed to be handed to the UN Secretary today. The report says that Israel had a right to have a blockade of Gaza, but that her military response was too strong. The report also said that Israel should express strong regret for the incident as well as provide monetary compensation for those injured or killed in the raid. Turkey has said repeatedly that it wouldn't "tolerate" the report and that Israel/Turkey relations would be downgraded if it was published. This would push Israel even further into a corner, because of how strategic a relationship with Turkey has been in the past.

    • Teach me Your way, O LORD, and lead me in a plain path, because of my enemies. Deliver me not over to the will of my enemies: for false witnesses are risen up against me, and such as breathe out cruelty. I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.

      Psalm 27:11-14
    • May this verse be an encouragement to the people of Israel and may they see the goodness of God in the Land of the living.

    • Let the truth stand in the face of all the lies.

    • Give boldness to the leaders to act correctly in response and the wisdom to know what the correct response should be.

    • May our leaders stand for truth and justice

    • Lord, please put an end to the manipulation that is seeking to grab hold of our leaders.

    • Protect our leaders from times of weakness.

    • Give us unity of leadership in Israel in the face of our enemies.

  4. We are now in the last few weeks in the run up to the UN vote of September 20th. The PA is going to raise the issue of Palestinian statehood in the General Assembly. There are many issues that could be prayed for, but we focused mainly on the preparedness of Israel on all fronts and the response of other nations to the vote. If the vote goes forward, a sorting of nations could result and spiritual consequences would follow.

    • Have mercy on us Lord!

    • Have concern for Your great name and for Your Word - act mightily on behalf of Your people.

    • May our security forces and government leaders be ready for what ever happens.

    • Anoint the words and actions of our leaders in the time running up to the vote.

    • Give nations the boldness to stand up and be counted as being against this proposal - bring about a sorting so that everyone may see where their nation truly stands (no abstentions).

    • We ask that you would bring the counsel of the wicked to nothing.

    • Grant not, O LORD, the desires of the wicked: further not his wicked device; lest they exalt themselves.

      Psalm 140:8
    • Give Netanyahu calm, resolve, and clarity that comes from Heaven.

  5. There continues to be social and governmental unrest. The weekly Torah portion talks about the need to establish judges who are just, but it also talks about not seeking to bring down judges who the Lord puts in place. The "social protests" that have spread across this country have begun to have a feel of anarchy in them. They are not calling for new elections, but they are calling for the government to fall. We should pray that true justice from God would be established here through the judges who are appointed. At the same time, we must be aware that our enemies around us see our internal division and the weakness it brings.

    • May the government we have turn to the Word of the Lord and judge rightly - may unity within Israel be the result.

    • Remove corruption from our midst Lord and may we have a government who truly seeks the welfare of its people.

    • Judges and officers shall be appointed in all your gates, which the LORD Your God gives you, throughout your tribes: and they shall judge the people with just judgment.

      Deuteronomy 16:18
    • Reveal all the things active in this "social movement" that is simply seeking to undermine the stability of this nation.

    • Lord, bring down this spirit of anarchy that is rising from within these protests.

    • Don't allow us to be over-whelmed and divided by threats from within - please don't give our enemies any cause for joy.

    • Please give the government of Israel the wisdom to know how to deal with real social problems that exist.

With all the heavy things being prayed over this morning, we ended by remembering the Lord's lovingkindness.

Thus says the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches: But let him that glories, glory in this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am the LORD who exercises lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, says the LORD.

Jeremiah 9:23-24

How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that brings good tidings, that publishes peace; that brings good tidings of good, that publishes salvation; that says unto Zion, Your God reigns! Your watchmen shall lift up the voice; with the voice together shall they sing: for they shall see eye to eye, when the LORD shall bring again Zion. Break forth into joy, sing together, you waste places of Jerusalem: for the LORD hath comforted His people, He hath redeemed Jerusalem.

Isaiah 52:7-9
