While our Friday prayer meeting goes ahead as normal in Jerusalem. This week's prayer points are based on our Northern Prayer Meeting which meets once every 3 months or so in a different congregation across the North of Israel. Today we met in Nahariya, a small city on the Mediterranean coast close to the border with Lebanon, drawn together from different places including our contingent from Jerusalem. We were hosted by an Arabic speaking congregation many of whom are believers from Lebanon.

  • Thank You, Father God that we can gather together, Jews, Arabs and other Gentiles, one heart together, united because of the blood of Yeshua!

  • Come fill our hearts, Holy Spirit! Lead us as Your children!

  • Thank You that You are great. You are a miracle-working God. There is none like You.

  1. Iranian Threat - does Israel need to attack?:

1Timothy 2:1-4. An independent security organization in Washington very recently announced that Iran could, if it wished, produce the material required for a nuclear bomb within two weeks. It doesn't mean Iran will do this immediately, but the capability exists. We have no faith that the USA will do anything to help and while they are busy talking to Iran they will be very angry if Israel takes any action. But time is running out. Pray for our leaders, the secular, physical shepherds of Israel:

    • Lord, we don't want another holocaust if Iran completes a nuclear weapon!

    • Bring Prime Minister Netanyahu, Defence Minister Yaalon and IDF Chief of Staff Gantz into complete unity. Make them one in mind and spirit.

    • Give them Your wisdom to make the right decisions and to know Your timing.

    • May Israel stop trusting in the US or the EU. May she stop trusting even in her own government or army!

    • And the governors of Judah shall say in their heart, The inhabitants of Jerusalem are my strength in the Lord of hosts, their God.

      Zechariah 12:5
    • Rouhani (President of Iran) is sneaky, pretending to want peace, but You know his heart. Reveal the truth, o Lord!

    • Thank You that although Iran is seeking to wrap the world around her finger, You, God are the One who guards the land of Israel. You are in control.

  2. Iranian Threat - can we rely on God to act?:

Jeremiah 29:11-14. God has brought His people back to this land to give us a future and a hope. An Iranian nuclear weapon would make this future and this hope very dark. Pray:

    • Lord, if You want to deal sovereignly with Iran, do it, and receive all the honour and the glory!

    • You are a man of war! (Exodus 15:3)

    • Rise up o Lord, in fury that the Iranians should want to destroy Israel! Show the world that You alone are the living God!

    • Cause earthquakes to swallow up the nuclear reactors in Iran!

    • Give dreams and visions to Israel's leaders so they cannot ignore what You are prompting them to do.

  3. "Peace Process":

More convicted murderers were released from Israeli jails this week - the price demanded by the Palestinians for agreeing to negotiate with Israel. Meanwhile Palestinian schools continue to teach hatred to their children. President Abbas says there's no chance they will ever recognize Israel as a Jewish state. And chief Israeli negotiator Tzipi Livni assures us that everything is going fine! Pray:

    • That the Prime Minister and ministers in the Security Cabinet would be awake to what is going on, would receive God's wisdom and unity.

    • That the truth, that the Palestinians don't want peace, would be clearly seen and that Israel's leaders would be prepared to declare the truth.

    • That the people of Israel would understand the truth and be willing to speak it out.

    • Pray from Psalm 83.

    • Don't allow Tzipi Livni to think that she can save Israel. Expose the lies she is believing or remove her!

    • The Americans keep saying "Peace, peace!" when there is no peace. (Jeremiah 6:14). Reveal the truth!

    • Harden the hearts of Abbas and Saeb Erekat (Chief Palestinian negotiator) and cause them to make mistakes.

    • Bring the plans of the nations to no effect! (Psalm 33:10-11)

  4. Earthquakes in Israel:

a number of earth tremors have been felt in Israel in recent days prompting fears and speculation about much larger and more destructive earthquakes. We are located on a major fault line susceptible to earth movement so it seems wrong to pray that there won't be earthquakes. Rather we pray that we would be ready for what is going to come and that God will be merciful regarding the size and timing:

    • Thank God for the warning signal given in these recent tremors and that there was no injury or damage. May it serve as a wake-up call to those who need to be ready.

    • Cause the local home front command, fire services and other organizations to take the warning seriously and make the plans needed to prepare for possible large earthquakes.

    • Have mercy on Your people if there is to be a major earthquake and minimize the loss of life. In wrath remember mercy. (Habakkuk 3:2)

    • Give people eyes to see the signs of the end times (Matthew 24:7) and wake them up to see the Messiah.

    • Let the people of Israel cry out to You with confidence O Lord, my strength and my fortress, my refuge in the day of affliction (Jeremiah 16:19)

  5. Lebanon:

Isaiah 29:17-20. This is one of many scriptures which speak blessing and prosperity concerning Lebanon. Today because of Islam and Hezbollah, Lebanon is a spiritual desert. But in His word, God says that He will do a quick work of transformation. Pray:

    • Thank You that Lebanon shall be a fruitful field and all the good things You see and say about Lebanon! Fulfil Your words, o Lord!

    • Thank You for the healing and salvation which You will bring to Lebanon.

    • Thank You for Lebanon's part in the building of the Temple (1 Kings 5). Please restore the peace of those days between Israel and Lebanon.

    • Thank You for the good things of Lebanon - fragrance (Song of Solomon 4:11), streams (Song of Solomon 4:15), wine (Hosea 14:7).

    • Prepare a Gideon's army to go out from Zion to bring Your blessing to Lebanon!

    • Rescue Lebanon out of the jaws of the enemy!

    • Wake up even the fighters of Hezbollah and bless them, for they don't know what they are doing! (Luke 23:34)

    • Drive away the spirit of death over the rulers of Lebanon and bring Your spirit of life.

  6. Hezbollah:

There have been rumours of 15000 Hezbollah fighters going to Damascus to fight for Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad. It is being reported that last night the Israeli air force struck two sites in Syria where weapons were being transferred to Hezbollah. Pray:

    • Break the power of Hezbollah.

    • Make Hezbollah a stench to the Lebanese people.

    • Expose the lies of Hezbollah to the Lebanese.

    • Give Israel excellent intelligence regarding the storage and movement of weapons in Syria and Lebanon.

    • Give Israel's military leaders Your strategy and tactics for the destruction of Hezbollah's weapons.

    • Use the Israel air force as Your sharp sword.

    • Cause a rebellion in Hezbollah. Let the fighters decide that they are not willing to die for Assad.

    • May Hezbollah not come out of Damascus victorious.

    • Destroy (Hezbollah leader) Hassan Nasrallah who thinks he can destroy Israel. Put a hook in his nose and bring him down for judgment. (Isaiah 37:29)

  7. Water:

It's the time of year to beseech the Lord for water for the land. Last year was a good year but it followed 10 bad years for rain. The Dead Sea is dying. Yet God promised that this land should be like the Garden of Eden. (Ezekiel 36:35) Pray:

    • Thank You, Lord, for refilling the Sea of Galilee last year.

    • Thank You for giving the knowledge and wisdom to make the desalination plants which are now providing a portion of Israel's water.

    • Lord, we are utterly dependent upon You to water this land. Cause Your people to cry out to You.

    • Cause us in this land to walk in fear of God, that You may bless us with rain.

  8. We ended our prayers by lifting up the family and friends of a precious sister in the Lord who went to her eternal home with the Lord this morning.

    • Thank You for the gift our sister was to the Body of Messiah in this land. Pour out Your Holy Spirit upon her husband and children and grandchildren and let the wider community of believers embrace them and carry them in their time of grief.

    • Give confidence in the hope of eternal life, and joy even in the midst of sorrow!

    • Lift up your heads, O you gates! And be lifted up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in.

      Psalm 24:7
