1. The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
When the wicked came against me to eat up my flesh,
My enemies and foes, they stumbled and fell.
    Though an army may encamp against me, my heart shall not fear;
Though war may rise against me, in this I will be confident.
One thing I have desired of the Lord, that will I seek:
That I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life,
To behold the beauty of the Lord, and to inquire in His temple.
    For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion;
    In the secret place of His tabernacle He shall hide me;
He shall set me high upon a rock.

    Psalm 27:1-5
    • Thank You that You defend us from our enemies.

    • You are good and Your mercies endure forever. (Psalm 106:1)

    • Your compassions are new every morning. (Lamentations 3:22-23)

    • Thank You for being our light, our salvation, our strength.

    • You really are beautiful and we thank You. (Isaiah 4:2)

    • You are a steady rock and a firm foundation and You don't change.

    • You are enthroned in Your holy temple. (Psalm 11:4)

  2. Israel's New Government

At the eleventh hour before the deadline, Prime Minister Netanyahu was able to announce the formation of a new coalition government with the minimum number (61) of members to give them a majority. This is a potentially weak situation since any one member could bring the government down by voting with the opposition. Now the appointment of the ministers needs to take place. And we should pray for the right people to be appointed to the right jobs.

    • Lord we prayed for a government through which You would be glorified. Please use this "narrow coalition" to carry forward Your purposes in this land.

    • Give the members of the government a spirit of humility: a will to serve and put the interests of the nation first, not clamoring for the best jobs to further their careers.

    • Silence the negative voices. Root out any traitors carrying a root of bitterness. (Hebrews 12:15)

    • Opposition leader Herzog has promised to do everything he can to bring down the government. Please hold back this destructive influence!

    • Grant a spirit of unity and cooperation to work well together. Build good relationships between the members of the government, binding hearts together to work as a team.

    • Give Your authority to Prime Minister Netanyahu to lead the government with Your wisdom and strength.

    • Cause him to draw near and approach You. (Jeremiah 30:21)

    • May he lean more and more upon You. In his weakness may he look to Your strength. My strength is made perfect in weakness. (2 Corinthians 12:9)

    • May the congregation of the Lord not be like sheep which have no shepherd. (Numbers 27:17)

    • Make this a blessed government way beyond anything we expect as we look today at its rather limited prospects.

    • Give them the wisdom of the  sons of Issachar who had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do (1 Chronicles 12:32)

    • Lord take the government on Your shoulder (Isaiah 9:6) and carry them!

    • In the words of Israel's national anthem, Hatikva: Our two thousand year old hope will not be lost. Plant a new hope in this nation. Amaze Israel with what You are able to do through this new government.

  3. Aliyah

And I will sanctify My great name, which has been profaned among the nations, which you have profaned in their midst; and the nations shall know that I am the Lord, says the Lord God, when I am hallowed in you before their eyes. For I will take you from among the nations, gather you out of all countries, and bring you into your own land.

    Ezekiel 36:23-24
    • Thank You Lord for the increased numbers making Aliyah especially from Ukraine and France.

    • May they come quickly and not wait until it's too late.

    • May the new Israeli government prepare the land for Aliyah. The desolate land shall be tilled instead of lying desolate in the sight of all who pass by. So they will say, This land that was desolate has become like the garden of Eden; and the wasted, desolate, and ruined cities are now fortified and inhabited. (Ezekiel 36:34-35)

    • Raise up people and ministries dedicated to bringing the Jewish people home.

    • Do this for Your name's sake. (Ezekiel 36:22)

    • Renew the Jews' sense of belonging in the land so they may be at home in their home.

    • Remove the obstacles to Aliyah.

    • Shake the Jews out of the comfortable little kingdoms they have built for themselves in the nations.

    • Give us a Minister of Interior who has or whom You can give a new heart for the Aliyah.

    • Remove the heart of stone in the Ministry of Interior. (Ezekiel 31:26) Make it a wide open door for the Jews to come home and no longer a barrier.

    • Let there be a welcome for the Messianic Jews.

  4. Security

the summer weather often exposes the heart of the enemies of Israel both from without (Hamas, Hezbollah, etc.) and from within (Arab populations of Israel and the disputed areas - Judea and Samaria).

    • Keep all Israel's spies hidden and enable them to get the information out to those who need it regarding the plans of the enemy.

    • Thank You for the boldness of these people who are ready to put their lives on the line to protect the nation.

    • Prepare all the young soldiers going into the army. Give them all they will need for their service and help the huge transition from childhood into adulthood.

    • Place each soldier where you want them. Give wisdom to all those in the selection process.

    • Put Your Spirit on the believers in the army. Send them out two by two. the Lord appointed seventy others also, and sent them two by two (Luke 10:1). Help them to withstand the pressures and temptations to stray from Your path. Give them a heart for Your nation.

  5. The Body of Messiah

We prayed that the Church throughout the world would have its heart transformed to understand what God is doing in and through Israel. In particular we interceded on behalf of the Church and government in the nations of origin represented in our prayer meeting. Behold, I will lift My hand in an oath to the nations, and set up My standard for the peoples; they shall bring your sons in their arms, and your daughters shall be carried on their shoulders. (Isaiah 49:22)

    • Turn the Church back to a love for Israel. Reveal the truth and the blessings which standing with Israel will bring.

    • He who scattered Israel will gather him, And keep him as a shepherd does his flock. (Jeremiah31:10) Open the eyes of the Church to see that this is happening and You are doing it.

    • Thank You for a new government in Finland with believers among the leadership. Give grace that the nation would act in righteousness towards Israel.

    • Thank You for Stephen Harper's leadership in Canada and his stand in support of Israel. Raise up many more like him around the world.

    • Root out replacement theology from the Church in South Korea. Change their understanding.

    • Thank You for the recent speech by the Archbishop of Canterbury speaking up against anti-Semitism and humbly confessing a failure of his own to stand up when he should have done so.

    • Thank You for a recent event in Israel bringing together British Christians with Israelis who had suffered under British rule at the time of the British Mandate. Raise up believers throughout the nations who are willing to give a lead for their governments to follow.

    • Thank You for the leadership of IFI leading a prayer conference in Scotland. Give them great wisdom as they lead prayer both for Israel (with a new government) and for the United Kingdom which held national elections this week. Give them grace as they continue their ministry trips next week, Chuck around Scotland, Eliyahu to Germany and Devin as he returns to Jerusalem.

  6. Salvation of Israel

I bring My righteousness near, it shall not be far off; My salvation shall not linger. And I will place salvation in Zion, for Israel My glory.

    Isaiah 46:13
    • Lord do not delay! Let Your salvation for Israel not linger!

    • Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. (Matthew 5:16) Give such grace to Your people in this land to live our lives in such a way that those around us will be impacted and their hearts will be changed.

    • I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.  I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them. (Ezekiel 36:26-27) Give Your people a new heart and put Your Spirit within them!

    • Move upon Your people this Shabbat!

    • Give thanks with a grateful heart. Give thanks to the Holy One. Give thanks because He's given Yeshua His Son. And now let the weak say I am strong. Let the poor say I am rich, because of what the Lord has done for us.

Shabbat Shalom from Jerusalem!
