Note #1: If the world ends tomorrow, as some believers are saying, or if it's the rapture, then ignore these prayer requests. But if not, please continue to intercede with us that God's kingdom would come and His will would be done in Israel, in our lives and our nations. But the end of all things is at hand: therefore be sober-minded, and watch in prayer. (1 Peter 4:7)

Note #2: Today is the 2nd day of Rosh Hashanah. In Israel there is no public transportation, so there was no Friday morning prayer meeting. These prayer topics come from IFI's mid-week prayer meetings.

  1. Israel and Jews worldwide celebrated the start of the fall feasts of the Lord this past Wednesday evening and shofars were blown in honor of Yom Teruah – the biblical name for Rosh Hashanah. With this, the new religious year on the Jewish calendar begins. As the only instruction we have in scripture is to create a loud noise as a memorial before God and to offer an offering by fire (Lev. 23:24-25; the offering is not possible without the Temple), Jews obey this by blowing the shofar and honoring God in his capacity as the Creator and the King. The Lord Yeshua is also declared as Creator and King.

    • In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God…All things were made by Him, and without Him was not anything made…

      John 1:1, 3b; see Psa. 33:6
    • And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world has been hid in God, who created all things by Yeshua the Messiah:

      Eph. 3:9
    • [God] has delivered us from the power of darkness, transferring us into the kingdom of His beloved Son, in whom we have redemption through His blood – the forgiveness of sins. He is the image of the invisible God…for by [the Son] all things were created, whether in heaven, or on earth, visible and invisible, whether they are thrones, or dominions, principalities, or powers. All things were created by Him, and for Him, and He is before all things, and by Him all things are sustained.

      Col. 1:13-17
    • God, who at various times and in different ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, by whom also He made the worlds;

      Heb. 1:1-2
    • Lord Yeshua, we exalt You as He who stands between Father God and all His creation (1 Tim. 2:5).

    • We bless and thank You that You have declared that Your sheep hear Your voice (John 10:27).

    • What a joy it is that we can know the Father because of You being the way to Him (John 14:6).

    • We praise You Lord Yeshua for being our Redeemer and Savior, as well as the King of the Jews and the King of Israel, (Matt. 2:2; Luke 23:38; John 1:14; 12:13).

    • You are also the King of all Kings! And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written, King of Kings and Lord of Lords. (Revelation 19:16)

    • King Yeshua, Blessed are You who comes in the name of YHWH (Psa. 118:26 Matt. 23:39)

  2. Rosh Hashanah begins a ten day introspective time of repentance for many Jews, in preparation for the most holy day on God's calendar, Yom Kippur – the Day of Atonement – in the hopeful expectation that their sins will be forgiven. Since only by Messiah Yeshua are sins forgiven eternally, we prayed for the salvation of Israel at this season.

    • Lord Yeshua, reveal Yourself to Your people – through dreams, visions, or in the reading of the Word.

    • Lord God, we ask for more laborers for this great harvest field (Luke 10:2).

    • Watch over all the seeds that believers have planted in Jewish hearts this past year (1 Cor. 3:6).

    • Use gentile brothers and sisters in Messiah to provoke many Jews to jealousy by their love for You and Your people (Rom. 11:11)

    • We pray specifically for the salvation of: Holocaust survivors; members of Israel's gay community; accident victims; terror victims and/or their surviving families; IDF soldiers who will be on patrol and not with their family during this season; Israelis and Jews for whom this next year will be their last year before they step into eternity; orphans and widows; government ministers and their staff, etc.

    • [Yeshua said,] 'They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance'.

      Mark 2:17
  3. For all Israel to be saved, they need to be alive. This is why we consistently intercede for Israel's security. Besides that, Israel is located in a very rough neighborhood.

    • Lord, exponentially increase Israel's knowledge of what its enemies plans are for this next year.

    • Help Israel with new ways of listening in on those enemies' plans. He uncovers unsearchable things out of darkness, and brings to light the shadow of death. (Job 12:22)

    • As the pressure on Iran is magnified, cause its leaders make huge mistakes (Prov. 21:1; Ezek. 38:10).

    • Use the pride and arrogance of Israel's enemies to bring them down (Psa. 10:2; 59:12; Prov. 16:18).

    • Fill their faces with shame; that they may seek Your name, O YHWH.

      Psalms 83:16
    • Continue to cause massive confusion in the enemies' ranks (Psa. 129:5).

    • Thank You for the recent increase in major training exercises for the IDF. Help the IDF to see clearly areas of weakness as well as areas of strength (Rev. 3:2).

    • Thank You for Israel's military industry which seems to develop new weapons and weapon systems on a regular basis (Ezek. 37:10; Mic. 4:13). More, Lord!

    • God, forbid that the IDF so depends on hi-tech that it cannot fight without it (1 Sam. 17:40).

    • Raise up the Joshuas, Devorahs and Davids in this current generation of IDF leaders (1 Chr. 11:10-11).

    • May many of the Messianic believers in the IDF be an answer to that last prayer.

  4. The government is responsible to oversee the IDF and is the one who orders all "attacks" or says to "wait." Therefore we prayed for Israel's political leaders to have all accurate actionable intelligence they need to lead this nation in a time of war as well as a time of peace.

    • To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven…A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

      Eccl. 3:1, 8
    • Abba, give courage and wisdom to the people whom You have placed over Israel today (Deut. 31:6-7).

    • Help them to encourage each other. Be of good courage, and be strong for our people, and the cities of our God: and let YHWH do that which seems good to Him. (2 Sam. 10:12)

    • If Israel needs to pre-empt, embolden the leaders to do it and not be concerned with the world's ire.

    • Now also many nations are gathered against you, that say, Let her be defiled; let our eye look upon Zion. But they do not know YHWH's thoughts, nor do they understand His counsel, for He shall gather them as sheaves into the floor. Arise and thresh, daughter of Zion, for I will make your horn iron and your hoofs bronze, and you shall beat into pieces many people, and I will consecrate their gain to YHWH, and their substance to the Lord of the whole earth.

      Mic. 4:11-13
    • Give the government confidence in the military leaders to let them lead in battle as much as possible.

    • May the government be fully prepared for the day after (Prov. 15:23b).

  5. This past week at the UN, Israeli Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu gave a very clear warning to both the world and Iran that Israel would not allow Iran to set up military bases in Syria. The Iranian representative was furious, so Bibi must have exposed a hidden truth of that wicked regime.

    • Abba, thank You for Benjamin Netanyahu and his ability to clearly communicate.

    • Let Your hand be upon the man of Your right hand, upon the son of man whom You have made strong for Yourself.

      Psa. 80:17
    • Thank You for how Israel has dealt with this Iranian threat, and may it continue to be blessed with the miraculous success that You have given Israel's Air Force and intelligence up to this point.

    • Abba, thank You for US President Trump appearing to be on the same page as Netanyahu re: Iran.

  6. When all Israel is saved as a nation, it happens in the land of promise. And so we pray against the "land-for-peace" process.

    • Lord God, thank You that recently there has been no further move to divide Your land (Lev. 25:23).

    • Strengthen Israel's current government who is really against seeing a "Palestine" created in Your land.

    • Abba, You hear all the threats and curses coming from the Palestinian leadership against Your land and people. Deal with them according to Your Word (Gen. 12:3b; Num. 24:9b).

    • And you shall know that I am YHWH and I have heard all your blasphemies you have spoken against the mountains of Israel [today, "the occupied territories"] …Thus with your mouth you have boasted… and multiplied your words against Me: I have heard them.

      Ezek. 35:12-13
    • Lord, hinder all plans to divide this land. YHWH brings the counsel of the nations to nothing: He makes the plans of the people of none effect. The counsel of YHWH stands forever, the plans of His heart to all generations. (Psa. 33:10-11)

    • Either use diversion or disillusionment so that Trump stops clinging to this very dangerous – for America (Joel 3:1-2)– idea of closing the "ultimate deal" – a peace between Israel and the Palestinians.

  7. When all Israel is saved as a nation, it happens in the land. This is why we always pray for aliyah, the immigration of the Jews from exile to Israel. At the end of Yom Kippur, next Shabbat, the service ends with "Next year in Jerusalem." While most Jews in exile say it without meaning it – God does!

    • Behold, I will send for many fishers, says YHWH, and they shall fish them; and after I will send for many hunters, and they shall hunt them from every [place where they are hiding]

      Jer. 16:16
    • Lord, gather Your people with as much mercy as possible (Jer. 3:14).

    • Yet since this is specifically for Your glory, whatever it takes – bring Your people home (Isa. 43:5-7).

    • Open wide the gates in Israel to receive all types of Jews – freely and with love (Isa. 62:10).

    • For all praying believers who think that the Jews will be slaughtered here – and thus are hesitant to pray for aliyah – turn them to Your Word: Hear the word of the LORD, you gentiles, and declare it… saying, 'He that scattered Israel will gather him, and keep/guard him, as a shepherd does his flock.(Jer. 31:10); I will rejoice over them to do them good, and I will plant them in this land assuredly with My whole heart and with My whole soul. For thus says YHWH, just like I have brought all this great evil upon this people, so will I bring upon them all the good that I have promised them. (Jer. 32:41-42)

    • [Click here for an in-depth study on this topic.]

    • May those who have recently returned, send out a good report from Zion during these days.

    • For Jews concerned for their safety and the security of their families here, open their eyes to see that while terrorism and enemy nations can be defeated – hurricanes, earthquakes, floods, etc., cannot.

    • YHWH reigns; let the people tremble: He sits between the cherubim; let the earth be moved. YHWH is great in Zion; and He is high above all the people.

      Psa. 99:1-2
  8. For all Israel to be saved, the Church needs to intercede specifically for this. While our God is totally sovereign, He has sovereignly set up His kingdom so that although He can do His will, most often He will not until He finds someone to ask Him.

    • And I [YHWH] sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before Me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.

      Ezek. 22:30
    • Our Father in heaven, Hallowed/sanctified/glorified be Your name." How? "May Your kingdom come and Your will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

      Matt. 6:9-10
    • Lord Yeshua, with so many of our brothers and sisters are looking forward to Your soon return, please impart to them that what You said about Israel must come to pass before that (Psa. 102:16).

    • For I say unto you [Jerusalem], You shall not see Me again, until you say, 'Blessed is He that comes in the name of the Lord'.

      Matt. 23:39
    • Pour out that spirit of supplication upon Your Church – especially in the West today (Zech. 12:10).

    • Show the Church that answers to pray are firstly for Your glory: Call upon Me in the day of trouble: I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me. (Psa. 50:15)

Shannah tovah – happy new year – and Shabbat shalom,
