1. Praise: Tonight at sunset, Israel celebrates the biblical feast of Tabernacles, or Succot. Israel is expecting thousands of Christians to come up to Zion. From this week's prophetic portion, we read the following verse and praised our King.

    • And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, LORD [YHWH] of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles.

      Zechariah 14:16
    • Hallelujah to our King, Yeshua, Lord of Hosts.

    • We bless You as we enter into this time of celebration for Your faithfulness to us and Israel this past year.

  2. The Feast of Tabernacles: Since many of our brothers and sisters are ascending to Jerusalem, we prayed that their very presence here would be used by God to provoke many Israelis to jealousy.

    • Have they [Israel] stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, to provoke them to jealousy.

      Romans 11:11
    • Lord, use Your children to provoke Your nation to jealousy this very week.

    • May the believers be ready to answer any questions Israelis may have.

But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asks you a reason of the hope that is in you - with meekness and fear:

      1 Peter 3:15
    • Give a special anointing and sensitivity to Your Body - here and worldwide - during this week of celebration.

    • Protect from any attacks the meetings and conferences that the Body of Messiah will be involved in this week.

    • Allow Your name to be sanctified in Jerusalem.

In that time shall the present be brought unto LORD of hosts...to the place of the name of LORD of hosts, mount Zion.

      Isaiah 18:7
    • Open up the eyes of Christians who do not see the place of Israel and the Jewish people in Your Kingdom today (Matthew 23:39; Acts 1:10-11, cp. Zechariah 14:3-4; Romans 11:28).
  3. Iran: The situation is getting in increasingly dangerous for Israel and the world seems to be interested only in talking. Ultimately, either God intervenes - our first choice - or Israel will need to save the world from its delusions by attacking Iran militarily.

    1. We prayed first for God to move sovereignly.

      • Lord, arise. Scatter the people who delight in war. (Psalms 68:1,30)

      • We bless You for how You are shaking Iran - politically and spiritually. Now we ask for You to physically shake the ground under Iran's nuclear development plants and let the earth swallow them up.

      • LORD also shall roar out of Zion, and utter His voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall shake: but LORD will be the hope of His people, and the strength of the children of Israel.

        Joel 3:16
      • Have mercy on innocent Iranians and continue to reveal Your Son to multitudes.

      • Give wisdom to the Iranian Church on how to pray for their nation.

      • Raise up prophets in that Church to warn their nation of God's impending judgments.

      • Give them understanding of the extreme danger Iran faces from You - because of resisting and even wanting to destroy what You are doing in restoring Israel for Your holy name's sake (Ezekiel 36:21-32).

      • Then shall LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when He fought in the day of battle.

        Zechariah 14:3
    2. We then prayed for the human element. Since we have no confidence that any nation other than Israel will even try to stop Iran, we asked God to prepare Israel to do the job fully.

      • Thank You for Israel's current political leadership: Prime Minister Netanyahu, Defense Minister Barak, Foreign Minister Lieberman, and the rest of the cabinet.

      • Thank You for Israel's current military leadership: Chief of Staff Ashkenazi and all the rest of his team.

      • Make all of these men and women like the children of Issachar, who had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do... (1 Chronicles 12:32).

      • Every purpose is established by counsel: and with good advice make war. (Proverbs 20:18) Surround Israel's leaders with good advice and wise counsel.

      • Give Israel's intelligence services access to all the information she needs to prepare for a military strike. Reveal the correct location of each and every Iranian nuclear facility.

      • If need be, give Israel new weapons that will penetrate Iran's defenses.

      • Raise up the spirit of David against this mocking and intimidating Goliath-like spirit that comes forth from most of Iran's current leadership.

You come against me with a sword, a spear, and a shield. But I come to you in the name of LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. This day LORD will deliver you into my hand; and I will smite you...that all the earth may know there is a God in Israel.

        1 Samuel 17:45-46
      • Now many nations are gathered against you, that say, Let her be defiled, let our eye look upon Zion. But they do not know the thoughts of LORD, neither do they understand His counsel - for He shall gather them as the sheaves into the floor. Arise. Thresh, O daughter of Zion, for I will make your horn iron, and...your hoofs brass, and you shall beat in pieces many people, and I will consecrate their gain unto LORD, and their substance unto the Lord of the whole earth.

        Micah 4:11-13
      • Abba, we know that You did not bring the Jewish people back to the land You promised them over 200 times in Your word - just to allow them to be destroyed. Therefore, whether You do it sovereignly, or You decide to use little Israel again, we plead with You to remove the existential threat that the current Iranian leadership represents.

  4. The Goldstone report to the UN Human Rights Commission on Israel's recent war against Hamas in Gaza is a very wicked report. Israel was accused of war crimes and equated with Hamas, the terror organization that runs Gaza. This ha led to many voices being raised against Israel throughout the world. We know that all nations are prophesied to come against Jerusalem - but is this that time or is the enemy trying to mess up God's timing. Although he can not stop God's plans, still God awaits our intercession to move His plans forward.

    • Lord, let Your timing prevail to bring the nations against Jerusalem.

    • Cause the Church to see how one-sided and biased this report is and to resist it in both the spirit realm and politically as opportunity presents itself.

    • Against this demonic report we proclaim: Surely there is no enchantment against Jacob, neither is there any divination against Israel: according to this time it shall be said of Jacob and of Israel, What hath God wrought! (Numbers 23:23)

    • We proclaimed Psalm 124 in the face of this situation:

If it had not been LORD who was on our side, now may Israel say; if it had not been LORD who was on our side, when men rose up against us: then they had swallowed us up quick, when their anger was kindled against us: then the waters had overwhelmed us...then the proud waters had gone over our soul. Blessed be LORD, who has not given us as a prey to their teeth. Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped. Our help is in the name of LORD, who made heaven and earth.

      Psalms 124:1-8
    • Lord, do not allow this report to weaken Israel's resolve in fighting terrorists.

  5. Sukkot is when most of Israel starts praying for rain. We prayed not just for rain - but for water, in whatever way God desires to bless us with it.

    • Lord, be gracious and bring the rain, the snow, the dew.

    • Have you entered into the treasures of the snow? Or have you seen the treasures of the hail, Which I have reserved against the time of trouble, against the day of battle and war?

      Job 38:22-23
    • Help Israel develop better and less expensive ways to desalinate water.

    • Fill up the Sea of Galilee and all of Israel's underground aquifers this rainy season.

    • Although we do not deserve any favors from You, we are pleading based on Your mercy and what Yeshua Himself said:

...your Father which is in heaven...makes His sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.

      Matthew 5:45
  6. Aliyah - the immigration of Jews to Israel - is always God's will and close to His heart. Although the timing of when individual Jews should return may differ, scripture is clear that Israel is the homeland of the Jews and this is where God wants us to be. No matter how safe or comfortable living outside the land is, the Word calls it "exile" and "captivity".

    • The good news is that aliyah this past year was up from all over - North America, Europe - especially the UK and France - South Africa and even South America. Thank You Lord!

    • Continue to open the eyes of European and America Jews to see the rising tide of anti-Semitism and anti-Zionism in their nations and to flee while they still have a choice.

    • Abba, we specifically lift up to You, the Jews in Iran, Ethiopia and India. Please carry home these precious ones soon.

You have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bare you on eagles' wings, and brought you unto Myself.

      Exodus 19:4
    • Remove all fear from hindering any Jews from coming home.

    • LORD builds up Jerusalem: He gathers together the outcasts of Israel. He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds.

      Psalms 147:2-3
    • Increase the numbers of Jews returning home this next year.

We finished by praying for Israel's captive IDF soldier Gilad Shalit.

May the Lord bless you abundantly as you persevere in prayer for His Kingdom purposes to be accomplished here in Israel - unto the ends of the earth.

Shabbat shalom and hag sameach - happy holyday
The IFI Team

Fear not: for I am with you: I will bring you seed from the east,
and gather you from the west; I will say to the north, Give up;
and to the south, Keep not back: bring My sons from far,
and My daughters from the ends of the earth;
Even every one that is called by My name:
for I have created him for My glory,

I have formed him; yes, I have made him.

Isaiah 43:5-7
