O give thanks unto the LORD; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people. Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him: talk of all his wondrous works. Glory in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the LORD. Seek the LORD, and his strength: seek his face evermore. Remember his marvelous works that he has done; his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth; O seed of Abraham his servant, children of Jacob his chosen. He is the LORD our God: his judgments are in all the earth. He has remembered his covenant for ever, the word which he commanded to a thousand generations. Which covenant he made with Abraham, and his oath unto Isaac; And confirmed the same unto Jacob for a law, and to Israel for an everlasting covenant.

Psalm 105:1-10

We give thanks to the Lord this day for who He is and for how He keeps His promises!

  1. We continue our prayer vigil for the government of Israel based upon 1 Timothy 2:1-3 which directs us to pray for our leaders. The pressure upon this government to bow to the world is immense and there is no way for anyone to stand firm in their own power. The leaders, especially PM Netanyahu, need the strength of the Lord and the clarity of vision they can find in His Word. We prayed:

    • We thank You Lord for a leader such as we have in Benjamin Netanyahu - put Your shield of protection around his mind and his emotions to guard him from all attacks of the enemy.

    • Give wisdom to our leaders the way You gave it to men like David and Daniel.

    • Help our government to stay unified and confuse the plans of anyone seeking to bring division.

    • Give our leaders the words necessary to stop the mouths of those who stand against Your Word concerning Israel.

    • Help our leaders to stand for the truth - Your Word is truth (John 17:17b)

    • Prevent manipulation and coercion from affecting the leaders of the government.

    • Let our leaders have sharp discernment to know the times they are in.

And of the children of Issachar, which were men that had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do; the heads of them were two hundred; and all their brethren were at their commandment.

      1 Chronicles 12:32
    • May the leaders of Israel serve the people and not themselves.

    • We ask for salvation and revelation to come to our government.

  2. The events that have been going on in Egypt over the last weeks have been quite troubling. It looks more and more like the Muslim Brotherhood will come to power in the next round of elections. A fundamental Islamic government in Egypt could threaten the stability of the entire region. We need to keep watch in prayer and seek the Lord for His will in this situation. We prayed:

    • Let Israeli intelligence be keenly aware of everything that is going on in the upheaval and the aftermath.

    • May our military be ready to respond appropriately to any attacks on our southern boarder.

    • In that day shall Egypt be like unto women: and it shall be afraid and fear because of the shaking of the hand of the LORD of hosts, which he shakes over it. And the land of Judah shall be a terror unto Egypt, every one that makes mention thereof shall be afraid in himself, because of the counsel of the LORD of hosts, which he hath determined against it.

      Isaiah 19:16-17

We pray that even the thought of attacking God's people would cause the Egyptian government to shake.

    • Use Israel to sound the alarm to the rest of the world about what is really moving in Egypt.

    • We pray support for our brothers and sisters in the Lord who are being persecuted in Egypt - give them strength, courage, and more opportunity to share Your Word.

    • Set the Coptic church from mere tradition and bring them into a real relationship with You.

    • In that day shall there be an altar to the LORD in the midst of the land of Egypt, and a pillar at the border thereof to the LORD.

      Isaiah 19:19
  3. The Iranian threat continues to be a major issue in the Middle East and the world. The world is proving once again that it does not have the will necessary to prevent Iran from getting nuclear weapons. Even if new sanctions are imposed, Russia and China have made it clear that they will continue their business with Iran no matter what. It continues to be clear that either the Lord needs to intervene, or Israel will be used as the Lord's tool of intervention. We prayed:

    • We ask Lord that You would act sovereignly to destroy this threat once and for all.

    • We ask for insight be given to our Prime Minister who believes he was brought back to power for such a time as this.

    • May our government have eyes that are open to what Iran is doing.

    • Give Israel good intelligence to know the timeline that Iran is on and the wisdom to know how to disrupt it.

    • May You get ALL the glory of bringing down this threat.

    • Behold, he that keeps Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.

      Psalm 121:4
    • Protection for the believers living in Iran - bring a spiritual earthquake in Iran and break forth in massive salvation despite the persecution.

    • Let the fear of the God of Israel come upon the whole of Iranian society.

  4. The last week was a huge blessing to the Land of Israel. We had steady rain everyday for a week. We wanted to thank the Lord for His blessing of water, but we also need to continue our prayers that more rain would come. Israel is in the middle of a prolonged drought that continues to threaten our fresh water resources. We prayed:

    • Have mercy upon Your people Lord and do not withhold the rain from this parched Land.

    • We recognize our dependence on rain is supposed to draw us to You - Draw Your people to Yourself.

    • We also recognize that Israel has not always been faithful to You, but Your Word says in Matthew 5:45b, for He makes His sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.

    • Please replenish the water needs of this Land.

    • May there be a good snow pack on the Hermon and the high peaks of Israel.

  5. As in the rest of the world, there have been economic difficulties in Israel. Many people are finding it hard to live and feel like they are trapped with no way out. The government needs to know how to meet the needs of the people in this nation and also to know how to fix the problems in our economy. We prayed:

    • Give godly wisdom to Yuval Steinitz, the Finance Minister, as well as to Stanley Fischer, the Bank of Israel Head, to know what needs to be done for Israel's economy.

    • Expose corruption and greed in this nation to allow righteousness to prevail in the economy.

    • Speak into the hearts of the people here about responsibilities rather than "rights".

    • We ask that Godly compassion would come upon the government.

    • We also lift up to You the plan to make cuts in Israel's defense budget - may these not put Israel or the IDF in danger in any way.

    • Help the government to know what role they need to have in the economy.

    • There are many Holocaust survivors who are living in poverty - we pray that people would see the need and act to care for them appropriately.

    • Surely the isles will wait for me, and the ships of Tarshish first, to bring your sons from far, their silver and their gold with them, unto the name of the LORD your God, and to the Holy One of Israel, because He has glorified you.

      Isaiah 60:9

Bring more Jews from the Diaspora home who can add wealth to this nation.

  6. This January marks the 70th anniversary of the Wannasee Conference that was held in Germany. This conference finalized the implementation of Hitler's "final solution" to the Jewish problem. Anti-Semitism is on the rise again all over the world and there have been new calls for Israel's destruction from the leader of Iran. The Church needs to wake up to this reality. Apathy and indifference characterized the majority of the Church in Europe while this "final solution" was being implemented. There is a danger that the church is once again settling into an apathy and indifference to Anti-Semitism. We prayed:

    • May You stir up the Church's conscience concerning what has happened to the Jewish People in the past and bring them to an understanding of how it is coming back to our world now.

    • Cause the Church to see the apathy that is settling in and may they be moved to action.

    • Let the church see the outright hatred directed toward the Jews and not be ignorant of the truth.

    • Show the church that indifference helps evil to thrive.

    • Help close the generation gap where young people don't consider what happened in the Holocaust to be a relevant lesson for today.

  7. There seems to be an increasing polarization of the Body concerning the question of Israel. More and more, we are starting to see extremes in the Body when it comes to the scripture as it relates to Israel. The truth of the Word needs to overrule any polarization there is in the Body. We prayed:

    • May the Body of Messiah be unified in the Spirit of God.

    • Show the place of relationship that we have where frank discussion can take place.

    • Let the truth of Your Word set the Body of Messiah free from false doctrine.

And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

      John 8:32
    • Sovereignly remove the deception that comes from emotionalism.

    • Cause the whole council of God to be lifted up.

    • Confront those who say they love You but hate Your people.

    • God is not a man, that He should lie; neither the son of man, that He should repent: has He said, and shall He not do it? or has He spoken, and shall He not make it good? Behold, I have received commandment to bless: and He has blessed; and I cannot reverse it. He has not beheld iniquity in Jacob, neither has He seen perverseness in Israel: the LORD his God is with him, and the shout of a king is among them.

      Numbers 23:19-21

May the Body see the truth of God's Word and that it can not be manipulated to fit our own thoughts.

Please continue to lift up IFI in your prayers as we prepare for our yearly conference in January. There is still much to be done and we all need a fresh infusion of energy to do it all. We pray a Shabbat blessing on all of You from Zion and we pray that you would be richly blessed in Your prayers this day!
