1. Praise:

The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? When the wicked came against me to eat up my flesh, my enemies and foes, they stumbled and fell. Though an army may encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; though war may rise against me, in this I will be confident.

    Psalm 27:1-3
    • Thank You that You neither slumber nor sleep. (Psalm 121:4)

    • Thank You that Your mercies are new every morning and You are always faithful. (Lamentations 3:22-23)

    • Thank You that You are the King of Israel and our loving heavenly Father.

    • Thank You that You love equity, justice and righteousness. (Psalm 99:4)

    • Thank You that you know every hair on our heads. (Matthew 10:30)

    • Ah Lord God, Thou hast made the heavens and the earth by Thy great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too difficult for Thee!

      Jeremiah 32:17
  2. Syria:

The US administration has announced that President Assad of Syria has been using chemical weapons, thus crossing a "red line" and prompting the promise of supplying weapons to the rebel forces. On the other side Russia has a growing number of ships in the Mediterranean and continued promises of other armed support for Assad. Iran and Hezbollah are also very much in evidence behind the Assad regime's military successes in recent weeks. Meanwhile Israeli Prime Minister seeks to remain outside the conflict but recognizes that Israeli security is constantly threatened.
    Pray:

    • Lord defend our borders!

    • Protect the people and their homes on the Golan Heights. May they and we not be filled with fear, but stand fast in You.

    • Set Your angels on guard to keep the Jewish people dwelling safely in the land. (Ezekiel 28:26)

    • Prevent every weapon from penetrating Israeli territory. (Isaiah 54:17)

    • Give wisdom to Israel's leaders - insight to know what the enemy is planning, knowledge where to deploy IDF forces, unity and agreement within decision-making groupings.

  3. Salvation of Syrian people:

    • Lord, set multitudes free from the bondage of Islam!

    • Reveal Yourself in dreams, so that many will be asking, "Who are You, Lord?"

    • Keep Your people in Syria well hidden from those who would be out to kill them, but let their light shine brightly to those who are being saved.

    • Lord, we know that You judge those who despise Israel - have mercy on a people subject to judgment on account of their leaders despising Israel. (Ezekiel 28:26)

  4. The gathering nations:

We do not know whether this is the time for the war prophesied in Ezekiel 38 and 39, though the current aligning of nations is making this an increasing possibility. We have been led to pray that God would hold back the nations from coming against Israel before the Lord's perfect time.
    Pray:

    • God, rebuke the warring nations that they may flee far away! (Isaiah 17:12-13)

    • Strengthen Israel to stand and see how You fulfill Your purposes. (2 Chronicles 20:17)

    • Send confusion among our enemies, o Lord! Divide them and scatter them! (Psalm 68:1)

    • Let Russia get distracted from the Syrian conflict so that she takes her warships away. (In the words of Anatavka's fictitious rabbi: God bless and keep the Tsar [Putin?]… far away from us! - Fiddler on the Roof)

    • Put a fear of the Lord into the Russian leadership so they may sense in some way that coming against Israel is coming against the living God.

    • Bring the plans of our enemies to nothing. (Psalm 33:10)

    • Let God arise and let His enemies be scattered! (Psalm 68:1)

  5. Leaders of Israel:

Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

    1 Timothy 2:1-4

We prayed in particular for Prime Minister Netanyahu, and cabinet members Yair Lapid, Naftali Bennett, Tzipi Livni, Moshe Ya'alon, Yuval Steinitz, Gideon Saar in the light of this week's prophetic scripture which includes the story of Jephthah:

    • As the Spirit of God came on Jephthah, come now, Spirit of God, on Benyamin Netanyahu and the members of Israel's government.

    • Convict them of sin.

    • May they know the truth.

    • Give them discernment to know what Israel should do, and obedience to do what must be done.

    • Grant them to trust in You with all their hearts. (Proverbs 3:5-6)

  6. Aliyah and Salvation of Israel: (Ezekiel 39:25-29)

    • May Your people not be afraid to come home even at a time when war threatens.

    • Put a spirit of Joshua and Caleb on them that they may be ready to take possession of their inheritance. (Numbers 14:6-9)

    • Bring them home for Your name's sake. (Ezekiel 36:22)

    • Cut off Your people from the things holding them in exile.

    • Bring them back with their riches, not waiting for the hunters to drive them out of the nations where they have been living. (Jeremiah 16:16)

    • Let it be known that the Lord Himself has done it. (Ezekiel 37:14)

  7. Body of Messiah:

    • Encourage Your people! Let them know that You are their glory and the lifter of their heads! (Psalm 3:3)

    • Bring Your people into true unity in You. Make us recognize our dependence upon each other and our dependence upon You! Give us love for one another!

    • Silence and drive out all deception!

    • Pour out a spirit of intercession upon Your body in Israel!

  8. IFI leaders:

Eliyahu is in the US for the wedding of his younger son. Chuck is teaching in Scotland. Jeremy is travelling to the US for 3 weeks.

    • Watch over, strengthen and protect them all as they travel and share the words You place on their hearts!

The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace.

Numbers 6:24-26
