1. On this, the 14th anniversary of the world-changing 9/11 attacks on America we began our meeting praising our unchanging God using the words of Psalm 50:

    • The Mighty One, God the Lord,
Has spoken and called the earth
From the rising of the sun to its going down.
Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty,
      God will shine forth.
      Our God shall come, and shall not keep silent;
A fire shall devour before Him,
And it shall be very tempestuous all around Him.

He shall call to the heavens from above,
And to the earth, that He may judge His people:
"Gather My saints together to Me,
Those who have made a covenant with Me by sacrifice."
Let the heavens declare His righteousness,
For God Himself is Judge. Selah

      Psalm 50:1-6
    • You, Lord are the righteous judge. You are the king, seated on Your throne. You are Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. (Revelation 22:13) You know everything and nothing can take You by surprise.

    • You are the same yesterday, today and forever. (Hebrews 13:8)

    • Your mercies are new every morning. (Lamentations 3:23) Thank You for Your faithfulness and Your lovingkindness.

    • Thank You for the special times You have appointed to meet with Your people.

    • What a privilege to praise our God from the midst of Jerusalem! Let everything that has breath praise the Lord! (Psalm 150:6)

    • Then sings my soul, my savior God to Thee: How great Thou art! How great Thou art!

  2. U.S. Congress

We continue to pray for the Congress because they are almost the only voice speaking out against the wicked deal which has been struck with Iran over its nuclear program. The Senate has held a vote and not gathered sufficient support to oppose President Obama and the deal. The House of Representatives has refrained from voting because the full details of the deal have not been made public so they don't know what they are truly voting on. It could be that the Supreme Court will need to make a judgment on whether Obama will be required to reveal all the details.

    • Thank You, Lord for those American leaders willing to fight the fight against evil, never mind the political cost to themselves.

    • You shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free. (John 8:32) Please uncover all deception and break the bondage of lies.

    • Change the minds of those who are hesitating about supporting the deal to reject it.

    • Anoint people to use the media to speak out the truth regarding this evil deal.

    • If the Supreme Court needs to give a judgment, anoint them to give a righteous judgment.

  3. Israel Budget

The Knesset is due to vote in November on a budget which will set government spending and taxation for the next two years. According to the law, if a budget is not agreed on then the nation automatically goes to new elections. With a government majority of only two seats, this gives much power to the different coalition parties, they can demand more finance for their own ministries and interests with the threat of bringing down the government if they don't get what they want.

    • Anoint the government to put in place a just budget which reflects Your priorities for Israel rather than narrow party interests and political manipulation.

    • Give wisdom and anointing to Finance Minister Moshe Kahlon and Prime Minister Netanyahu to see the budget through.

    • Bring unity in the government and silence the voices bringing strife and discord.

    • Let sufficient budget resources be allocated to Defence.

  4. Natural Gas

One of the recent areas of controversy has been the decisions being made about developing the large natural gas resources discovered off Israel's coast. The government has been unable to agree on the level of profit which can be made by the companies which have invested in exploration and development of this gas field and as a result the work has been stopped. It is hugely important to Israel's security to have major independent sources of energy.

    • Lord, remove the political blockages to agreement in this matter.

    • Thank You for the resources which You have provided. May Israel not despise the blessings with which You have blessed her!

    • Thank You that Israel is dependent upon You. Let us never seek to be independent of You, God!

  5. Security

With the weakening of the Assad regime in Syria, both Russia and Iran have been pouring in resources to prop up their major ally. For Iran it is a major key to maintain the land connection with Hezbollah, their proxy in Lebanon. For Israel it is vital to prevent Iran from establishing a base on the Syrian part of the Golan Heights adjacent to Israel.

    • Please Lord give alertness and wisdom to all our forces, especially those overlooking Syria and Lebanon. Provide the intelligence we need to know what our enemies are doing and what they are planning.

    • Give words of knowledge like You gave to Elisha who, …Tells the king of Israel the word that you (the king of Syria) speak in your bedroom. (2 Kings 6:12)

    • As the situation becomes more volatile, keep in place Your angelic forces who guard over the borders.

    • Anoint Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon to watch over Israel's borders. Give him keen, cool observation and wise judgment of how and when to act.

    • Prepare the whole of the IDF to be ready to act as needed and if that time comes, to act firmly, forcefully and quickly.

  6. EU sanctions

The European Union has voted that goods produced in Judea, Samaria, Golan Heights and "East" Jerusalem need to be specially labelled. Israel is seeking to persuade them not to enact this ruling. It is a reminder of how Jewish produced goods were labelled in the Nazi era.

    • Lord, bless all these businesses established in these areas which are bringing prosperity to the ancient heart of Your land, creating jobs and incomes for Jews and for Arabs.

    • Where there is any labelling of products from these regions, let this cause an increase in sales rather than the intended reduction.

    • Lord, where nations choose to implement this labelling, they are in danger of invoking a curse upon themselves. I will curse him who curses you (Genesis 12:3). Have mercy upon these nations and cause Your people within them to rise up and call out to You and bring the reversal of this policy.

  7. 9/11

On this anniversary of the horrors of September 11th 2001:

    • Lord, comfort those who mourn in memory of those who were murdered on that day.

    • The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, because the Lord has anointed Me…to comfort all who mourn.

      Isaiah 61:1-2
    • Give alertness to security services in the USA, especially New York, Israel and across the world, to prevent those seeking to do evil today in memory of the evil done that day.

    • Some of the terrorists were closely connected to Iran. So use the memories to wake people up to the continued evil ambitions of Iran today.

    • In the aftermath of 9/11 2001 there was a significant turning to You, God. Remind these people and bring them back again to the One they turned to 14 years ago but later forgot.

  8. Rosh Hashannah (Feast of Trumpets)

This Sunday night marks the biblical Feast of Trumpets, which Israel calls New Year. It is a time of celebration as well as self-examination beginning 10 Days of Awe which lead up to Yom Kippur (the Day of Atonement). It is a particular season in God's calendar for the people to make themselves right with God and with one another.

    • In the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you shall have a Sabbath-rest, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, a holy convocation.  You shall do no customary work on it; and you shall offer an offering made by fire to the Lord.

      Leviticus 23:24-25
    • Show Your people whom we need to get right with and how to do it.

    • Put in the hearts of Your people the need and the desire to get right with You.

    • When they hear the sound of the shofar and the trumpet in these days, open up Your people to Your call to integrity, righteousness, truth and to the person of Yeshua Your Son.

    • Bring a great harvest in this season from the House of Israel. The harvest truly is plentiful. (Matthew 9:37)

    • Remove the veil which is over the eyes of Your people Israel preventing most of them from recognizing Yeshua. (2 Corinthians 3:14-16)

  9. Sandstorm

For the past few days Israel, along with other nations in the Middle East, has been covered with an unusual haze caused by sand in the air blown from dust storms in Syria and Iraq. Combined with intensely hot weather it has been unpleasant and uncomfortable and even dangerous.

    • Lord, thank You if You have been using this dust to keep Your hand over those seeking to do evil against us! Because You do keep stores of snow and hail for times of trouble (Job 38:22-23) - maybe dust too!

    • Thank You that He who keeps Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. (Psalm 121:4)

    • As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds His people from this time forth and forever. (Psalm 125:2)

    • Have mercy on the refugees in Syria and Iraq where the dust originates who have none of the comforts we have (air conditioning, etc.) to protect them from the dust and heat.

    • In Your time send winds to clear this dust away and cleanse the air. Likewise blow by Your Spirit to cleanse the hearts and minds and souls and spirits of the people of Israel.

At this season one of the traditional greetings among the Jewish people is "May your name be written in the Book of Life". We are so grateful to have assurance that because of Yeshua, our names are indeed written in the book!

We continue in our discipline of prayer, not because we are seeking to earn our salvation, but out of gratitude to the One who calls us and reveals His love to us and continues to involve us in His purposes.

So thanks for praying! Shabbat Shalom and Chag Sameach (Happy Holiday)!
