1. We looked at Psalm 78 to start our time with Israel's King.

    • Give ear, my people, to my law; bow down your ears to the words of my mouth. I will open my mouth in a parable; I will speak dark sayings of old, which we have heard and known, and our fathers have told us. We will not hide them from their sons, showing to the generations to come the praises of YHWH, His strength, and His wonderful works that He has done. For He set up a testimony in Jacob, and ordered a Law in Israel, which He commanded our fathers, that they should teach them to their sons; so that the generation to come might know…so that they might set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep His Commandments;

      Psalms 78:1-7
    • Thank You for not changing so that we can always depend on You (Malachi 3:6).

    • Praise You for being a God of love and mercy - as well as a God of righteousness and justice.

    • We will not forget all the benefits of having a personal relationship with You (Psalm 103:1-6).

    • Hallelujah! The Guardian of Israel never slumbers nor sleeps (Psalm 121:4).

    • Thank You for what You are doing in the world today: restoring Israel and Jerusalem, and building Your Body. You are watching over Your Word to perform it (Jeremiah 1:12).

    • Who is like You, O YHWH, among the gods? Who is like You, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?

      Exodus 15:11
  2. While this wicked nuclear agreement between the world powers and Iran seems to be a done deal, there are stirrings in Iran's leadership that could bring it down. We prayed at the very edge of our faith concerning this, remembering that nothing is impossible with God (Jeremiah 32:17, 27).

    • Lord, let the arrogance of Iran's leadership against Israel and the US cause them to overplay their hand.

    • Pride goes before destruction and a haughty spirit before a fall.

      Proverbs 16:18
    • Thank You that they are making more demands that would change the deal. Let their Persian bazaar bargaining tactics cause the whole thing to implode!

    • Abba, hook Iran's leaders by the nose and drag them into Your judgment (Isaiah 37:29) for cursing and threatening Israel (Genesis 12:3).

    • Thank You for all of the American politicians who have already taken a stand against this deal.

    • Lord, we have yet to hear any EU voices against this agreement with hell. Where are they?

    • Bless the Iranians by destroying their arrogant king/ayatollah and his princes/mullahs (Jeremiah 49:38).

    • Let them be humbled and put to shame, those who seek after my soul; let them be turned back and be brought to shame, those who plot evil to me. Let them be as chaff before the wind; and let the Angel of YHWH drive them away. Let their way be dark and slippery; and let the Angel of YHWH pursue them. For without cause they have spread their net for me in a pit; without cause they have dug for my soul. Let destruction come upon him…and let his net which he has concealed catch him.

      Psalms 35:4-8
    • Give great wisdom and grace to the growing Iranian Church.

    • Increase the number of Iranians coming to Messiah Yeshua.

    • By Your Spirit, Teach them how to pray (Matthew 6:7-10).

  3. Regardless of what the world does, Israel needs to follow the leading of the Lord in its response. Since most Israeli leaders are not believers, we who love Israel and its God, have a responsibility to stand in the gap, asking Him to guide them by His Spirit - for His holy name's sake!

    • Thank You that because of Israel, the Jews are no longer a helpless people (Ezekiel 37:10).

    • We bless You for giving Israel its current leaders - especially PM Bibi Netanyahu (Isaiah 1:26).

    • Continue to guide him by Your wisdom and strengthen him by Your grace (Psalm 80:17).

    • Concerning Israel's leadership, we declare, There are many plans in a man's heart, but the counsel of YHWH, that shall stand. (Proverbs 19:21)

    • Remove the fear of man from Israel's leaders, and enable them to trust in You. (Proverbs 29:25).

    • When planning how to eliminate this Iranian threat, help Israel's military to think out of the box.

    • You said You would break the bow of Elam [Iran] (Jeremiah 49:35). Do it so that Iran is stripped of the ability to launch any missiles.

  4. The situation in Syria has just become a lot more interesting as now there are both Russian and Iranian troops just north of Israel. Is this a lead-in to the Gog & Magog of Ezekiel 38-39? No one can know for sure, yet we continue to pray for His kingdom to come and His will to be done - here on earth.

    • Lord, overrule all of Russian President Putin's plans that are not of You (Revelation 17:17).

    • In fact, use Putin for Your glory! For the Scripture says to Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose I have raised you up, that I might show My power in you, and that My name might be declared throughout all the earth. (Romans 9:17)

    • Thank You that Bibi traveled to Moscow this past week - to lay down before Putin Israel's redlines.

    • Please God, help him keep to those redlines and not back down from doing what is best for Israel.

    • Keep Russian soldiers and weapons, including its jets, away from Israel's borders.

    • Hedge in the Russian troops and use this whole situation to hasten the coming of Messiah Yeshua.

    • Continue to stir up the spirit of rebellion in the ranks of Hizbullah as so many of their top soldiers have been killed defending Syrian President Assad (Mark 3:25).

    • In all of this mess, protect the Kurdish people and make a way for them to have their own state.

  5. For the next few weeks, the modern-day version of the Tower of Babylon - the UN - is holding its annual General Assembly meeting, along with various other events. These meetings never bode well for Israel or the kingdom of God. Yet, Zion's God reigns (Isaiah 52:7)!

    • Lord, we need Your guidance to know how to pray into all this - especially as some of it has prophetic significance (Amos 3:7).

    • Give us - for Your holy name's sake - that spirit that rested on the sons of Issachar, who knew the signs of the times they lived in, and what Israel needed to do (1 Chronicles 12:32).

    • Abba, when the Pope speaks there today, hedge him in from going beyond what You have decreed.

    • Lord, as Bibi speaks in the UN, anoint him to bring a fresh word of warning from Zion (Isaiah 2:3b).

    • Shame Palestinian President Abbas before the whole world, as he spews lies against Your people and Your nation (Psalm 83:16-18).

    • On September 30th, when the Palestinian flag is raised outside the UN with the rest of the nations' flags - Lord, arise and show Your great displeasure with this abominable act of rebellion against Your Word!

    • Because you have said, These two nations [Israel & Judah] and these two lands shall be mine; we shall possess it - yet YHWH was there - therefore, as I live, says the Lord YHWH, I will act by your anger and envy which you have shown out of your hatred against [the Jews]. And I will make Myself known among them when I have judged you. And you shall know that…I have heard all your blasphemies…spoken against the mountains of Israel, saying, Desolation! They are given to us for food.

      Ezekiel 35:10-12
    • Continue to draw Israel and India into an even closer alliance.

    • Bless Indian PM Modhi with a deep revelation of who You really are - not one of millions - but the one and only true God. For YHWH is a great God, and a great King above all gods. (Psalm 93:5)

  6. We prayed for Israel's security over the feast of Sukkot/Tabernacles - especially in Jerusalem.

    • For I will defend this city, to save it for My sake and for My servant David's sake.

      2 Kings 19:34
    • Lord, thank You for the new rules of engagement passed by Israel's security cabinet this past week.

    • Speed up whatever stands in the way of them being quickly applied on the streets.

    • May the government back the security forces fully as they implement these new rules of engagement.

    • For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the bad. Do you desire to not be afraid of the authority? Do good, and you shall have praise from it. For it is a servant of God to you for good. For if you practice evil, be afraid, for it does not bear the sword in vain; for it is a servant of God, a revenger for wrath on him who does evil.

      Romans 13:3-4
    • Thank You that You have brought us back to save us - not to see us get slaughtered (Jeremiah 31:10).

    • Lord, because You are gracious, we plead with You to deliver many Palestinians from the spirit of terrorism that they have been possessed by - many from their very young age.

    • Lord, protect all of Israel's borders during this season (Malachi 1:5).

    • Bless all the soldiers and security forces who will be on duty watching over this nation and its people - instead of feasting and rejoicing with their families.

  7. We prayed into Israel's financial situation as a budget needs to be passed by November, or we need to go for new elections. Also, the huge gas deposits that Israel has found in the Mediterranean has yet to bear any real fruit, as although there is an agreement between the government and the two gas companies that have discovered it, Shas' Arei Deri has put a blockage on the deal going through. He is an evil man who needs to be removed from his position. Finally, there has been a strike by the Christian schools in Israel over finances. Please seek God as to how He would direct you to pray for these issues.

  8. According to Leviticus 23:39-44, God's Feast of Sukkot - or Tabernacles - begins this Sunday evening at sunset and is celebrated in Israel for eight days. Early Monday morning, the fourth red-moon will appear - the only one that we will be able to see in Jerusalem. While we are not sure what that is supposed to signify, our hearts tell us to watch and pray. So we prayed for this nation over this feast.

    • Lord, thank You for this time of rejoicing before You (Leviticus 23:40b).

    • May many more Israelis actually rejoice before You this year and be blessed by obeying Your Word.

    • Abba, comfort all those who enter this feast having lost a loved one this past year - through terror, accident, illness or just plain old age. Yes, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. (Psalm 23:4)

    • For those of us who know You, restore the joy of our salvation (Psalm 51:12).

    • Yeshua, as Israelis - and Jews in exile - sit in their succot/booths, please enter, sit with them and reveal Yourself to them as their brother and king. Then Joseph could not control himself before all those who stood by him, and he cried, Cause every man to go out from me! And no man stood before him while Joseph made himself known to his brothers[saying] I am Joseph…Please come near me. And they came near, and he said, I am Joseph your brother, whom you sold into Egypt. Now do not be grieved, nor angry with yourselves… For God sent me before you to preserve life. (Genesis 45:1-5)

As we approach this fall season, it is the time when Israelis pray for rain. Please join us, asking our great God to open the heavens and pour out His water in abundance on His land.

Shabbat shalom and hag Sukkot sameach,

The IFI team
