1. Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel,

    You who lead Joseph like a flock;

You who dwell between the cherubim, shine forth!

    Before Ephraim, Benjamin, and Manasseh,

    Stir up Your strength,

    And come and save us!

    Restore us, O God;

    Cause Your face to shine,

    And we shall be saved!

    Psalm 80:1-3
    • Come Lord, and save us! Thank You for the shed blood, for the stripes and for the curse Yeshua took for us!
    • You are on Your throne. You are sovereign. You are in control.
    • Thank You for Your mercies which are new every morning. (Lamentations 3:22-23)
    • There is none like You. (2 Samuel 7:22)
    • Thank You that the people of Israel are in the land of Israel – a great testimony to the God of Israel!
    • For Thou, O Lord art high above all the earth. Thou art exalted far above all gods. (Psalm 97:9)
  2. Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu

is in the USA. He has spoken with Obama and addressed the United Nations as well as meeting with various other people. Following such major events are often the times when the pressure on him increases and he needs our prayers more than ever.
    • Please protect Bibi from the increased world pressure to make concessions to bring “peace”.
    • Silence those who oppose Your purposes.
    • Set his heart like flint to do nothing which is not in the center of Your will. (Isaiah 50:7)
    • Thank You for the truth spoken in Bibi’s UN speech.
    • Thank You for his meeting developing relations with many African leaders.
    • Anoint Bibi for the further meetings he will have before he comes home.
    • Give the Prime Minister supernatural strength in body, mind and spirit. Protect his health and give him opportunities and the ability to rest.
    • Make his home a place of peace and refuge.
    • Put a spirit of cooperation on all those with whom he works from day to day in his household, with his advisers and among his colleagues.
    • But You, O Lord, are a shield for me, My glory and the One who lifts up my head. (Psalm 3:3) Be a shield for Bibi Netanyahu.
  3. Egyptian President Sisi

spoke positively at the UN about his nation’s cooperation with Israel and also had a private meeting in New York with Jewish leaders. While there has been a formal treaty between Israel and Egypt for a generation, little has changed in the attitudes of most Egyptians. In making public statements like this, Sisi is putting his very life on the line.
    • I will bless those who bless you, Genesis 12:3
    • Blessed is Egypt My people Isaiah 19:25
    • Bless Sisi and let Your blessing be obvious so that the Egyptian people can see that You are blessing him because of his blessing of Israel and Your power is greater than every other power that would oppose Israel.
    • Cause a shift in attitudes in the nation of Egypt especially in the education system.
    • Give a widespread vision for Israel in the Coptic Church in Egypt.
    • Transform the economy.
    • Set Your angels around Sisi to protect him. Set a hedge around him.
    • Have You not made a hedge around him, around his household, and around all that he has on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land. Job 1:10
    • Make his bodyguards faithful and alert. Enable his security system to uncover plots against him and root out traitors. Guard his back!
    • Hide me from the secret plots of the wicked, Psalm 64:2
    • Raise up Sisi in the same way as you raised up Cyrus. (Isaiah 45)
  4. Syria

The increased involvement of Russia is making things more complicated for Israel, with Russia attempting to control Israel’s policy of retaliation whenever any missile comes into Israeli territory.
    • Give wisdom and unity to Israel’s leaders and understanding of the times to know what Israel ought to do. (2 Chronicles 12:32)
    • Provide Israel with accurate intelligence of everything that is going on. Bring the plans of our enemies into the light.
    • Hedge in the Russian bear. Therefore, behold, I will hedge up your way with thorns, and wall her in, so that she cannot find her paths. (Hosea 2:6)
    • May the Syrian conflict become like quicksand for Russia so she will want only to get out. Push Russia out of the Middle East with Your hand.
    • Show Your mercies to the innocent civilians caught up in this dreadful conflict, especially the children. Cause them to cry to You for help.
  5. USA

President Obama has just given final approval to licenses allowing new passenger airplanes to be sold to Iran. Many are opposed to this further expansion of trade with Iran. Meanwhile, in the election campaign, this week will see the first televised debate between the candidates.
    • Lord, let this be stopped and give the political opponents of the agreement the right strategy to get it stopped.
    • Hedge in Obama to prevent him doing any more damage in the few months he has left as President. He has hedged me in so that I cannot get out; He has made my chain heavy. (Lamentations 3:7)
    • Lord, please let the debates between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump be used to reveal the truth regarding both candidates and their character.
    • Hedge in the media and prevent any further manipulation from them. For there is not a word on my tongue, but behold, O Lord, You know it altogether. You have hedged me behind and before, and laid Your hand upon me. (Psalm 139:4-5)
    • Arouse Your Church to pray and also to vote in this crucial election which has such an impact on the whole world.
  6. Aliyah

recent statistics suggest that 57% of religiously motivated hate-crimes in the USA were anti-Jewish. European Jews are less likely than before to attend synagogue during the coming High Holidays because they are concerned for their safety. Alongside the depressing news we also hear of Csanad Szegedi, formerly a Hungarian anti-Semitic politician who discovered he had Jewish roots and is now making Aliyah.
    • Thank You, Lord for Mr Szegedi. Thank You for demonstrating again that, as with Saul of Tarsus, You turn the worst offenders around to demonstrate Your glory.
    • Touch the hearts of Your people so they recognize the signs of the times and want to come home to Israel before it is too late.
    • 'Behold, I will send for many fishermen,' says the Lord, 'and they shall fish them; and afterward I will send for many hunters, and they shall hunt them from every mountain and every hill, and out of the holes of the rocks.' (Jeremiah 16:16)
    • Help Israel to prepare for the coming Aliyah – creating affordable housing, removing bureaucratic restrictions on new immigrants entering the job market, changing attitudes towards new immigrants – putting out the “Welcome” map.
  7. Rain

although it’s not yet the rainy season we continue to pray for rain during the coming winter in the face of forecasts of a dry season.
    • Thank You for the miracle of rain in a hot and dusty region.
    • May the early rains come even earlier this year!
    • Send soft rains, not hard rains so there will not be flooding nor damage to crops.
    • Save the Kinneret (Sea of Galilee) from dying and fill it up this season.
    • O God, You are my God. Early will I seek You. My soul thirsts for You. My flesh longs for You in a dry and thirsty land where there is no water. Psalm 63:1
    • You, O God, sent a plentiful rain, whereby You confirmed Your inheritance. Psalm 68:9
    • He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. (Matthew 5:45) Lord, we are still an unredeemed nation. Send us rain despite our sin!
    • The land which you cross over to possess is a land of hills and valleys, which drinks water from the rain of heaven, a land for which the Lord your God cares; the eyes of the Lord your God are always on it, from the beginning of the year to the very end of the year. Deuteronomy 11:11-12
    • Have mercy on Your land and be glorified as You make it bloom!
  8. Salvation of Israel

each day of the month of Elul leading up to the Feast of Trumpets (Rosh Hashannah – New Year) the shofar is sounded, calling the people to examine themselves and prepare their hearts to be right with God and with their fellow man.
    • Cause the Jewish people to hear the shofar call as the lament of Your heart as You long for them to seek You and to find You.
    • And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. I will be found by you, says the Lord. Jeremiah 29:13-14
    • Reveal Yourself to Your people. Let them hear You in the silence. Give them dreams and visions and may they recognize Messiah Yeshua!
    • One thing I have desired of the Lord, that will I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to inquire in His temple. Psalm 27:4
  9. Local congregations in Israel

we continue to stand together with the community of believers in Arad facing persecutions.
    • Thank You that there is a varied body of believers in Yeshua throughout Israel.
    • Give grace to our brothers and sisters in Arad that they may respond to the opposition with Your heart and in Your way.
    • Convict those who are persecuting Your people. Let them find You in the midst of trying to do evil. Bring victory for Your name in Arad.
    • Protect the children and hide them under Your wings. He shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you shall take refuge; (Psalm 91:4)
    • Anoint the preaching and the hearing of Your word. Revive Your people with Your truth.
    • Bless the Arab congregations throughout Israel, especially those who bless Israel.
    • Bring Your care to the elderly and the sick, to the orphans and the widows.
    • Bring the blessing of true unity in Your Holy Spirit. Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!…Life forevermore. (Psalm 133)
    • Worthy, worthy, worthy is the Lamb! For You are glorious and worthy of all praise, the Lamb upon the throne. (Revelation 5)
Chuck Cohen is spending a few days with family before returning to Israel. Please pray for safe travels and for refreshment in body, soul and spirit as he returns home. Shabbat Shalom from the IFI team!
